    Today is the last day patients can visit a GP surgery in Spalding before it closes permanently.

    The Pennygate Health Centre has been at the centre of a row over whether it should close or not, with hundreds signing a petition appealing for the surgery to remain open.

    That's despite the centre being rated as "inadequate" for safety in two reports by health bosses.

    The South Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) says it's carefully considered the decision and GP services are to be moved to Spalding's Johnson Hospital.

    There will be a Q&A session at the GP surgery between 10:00 and 12:00 today to address patients' concerns, the CCG adds.

    Chafer grubs, the pest which cancelled football games in Lincoln, have been discovered elsewhere in the county.

    Nick Fox, from Horncastle, says he's been finding them in his garden too, but he has a solution to the issue.

    He's deploying legions of nematodes (a kind of roundworm) which gobble up the grubs.

    Lincolnshire farmers have cautiously welcomed a pilot plan to bring 2,500 non-EU migrants into the UK.

    The National Farmers' Union says it's been arguing for two years that it needs more workers to make up for what it describes as "serious" shortage of labour.

    The two-year pilot is due to start next spring.

    The migrants will be allowed to work here for up to six months before returning home.

    Five years after Boston's HMV shut, the music retailer has announced that it's opening a new shop in Boston.

    An advert posted on the HMV website , externalsays they're looking for a manager to run the new shop, which will open in October.

    The previous HMV store closed in the town in 2013, after the company went into administration.

    There are no details yet on where the new shop will be in the town.

    The site of the former HMV is now a charity shop.

    Two Lincolnshire councils are considering taking a £20m loan to cover the effect of funding cuts, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

    Councillor Aaron Spencer, Boston Borough Council's finance boss, says a previous £1m investment has already generated a profit of £111,000 for the authority to invest in services.

    Mr Spencer has highlighted the potential returns if Boston Council and East Lindsey District Council were to borrow a further £20m and invest it in property.

    The investment will be spread over a number of funds to provide security to the loan, it's understood.

    A man has died after a crash on the A16 today.

    A motorbike and lorry collided on the road near Crowland at around 08:00.

    The 48-year-old man who died was riding the motorcycle.

    His family have been informed.

    The MP for Grimsby has criticised the sentence given to a 13-year-old boy who had a 90-minute standoff with police in the town.

    The boy threw tiles off a roof in the town and injured police officers.

    A man in his 40s is in a serious condition in hospital after suffering major head injuries in a fight outside a Boston nightclub.

    The fight between a large group of men and women broke out near The Assembly Rooms nightclub after midnight on 2 September and continued onto Town Bridge.

    Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which happened on Town Bridge, to come forward.

    The chief marketing officer of tech giant Samsung is joining Lincoln City as a director.

    David Lowes, who is originally from Lincoln, is responsible for marketing the electronic firm's products in Europe.

    Joining the club's board of directors, Mr Lowes says: "As a fan I want more of the wonderful memories Lincoln City have given me and am now in a position to play my small part in helping create them."

    The A16 is currently closed in both directions at Crowland.

    It's after a serious accident involving a lorry and motorbike which happened at about 08:00.

    Police say the road will be closed for the next few hours.

    A teenage drug dealer from Boston, who was caught with a stash of crack cocaine and heroin, has been jailed for nearly three years.

    Connor Ward, 18, of North Street in Boston, admitted two charges of possession of drugs with intent to supply after a police raid on 26 July.

    He also admitted possession of cannabis and three offences of failing to answer bail.

    He has been sentenced to 33 months in a young offenders institution.

    Fans of all things regal can now see a replica in Lincoln of the tiara which put the sparkle on Meghan Markle at this year's royal wedding.

    The tiara has been recreated by a Lincoln jeweller to honour the fact that the tiara's central jewel was a brooch gifted to the royal family by the county of Lincolnshire in the late 1800s.

    Eyewitness accounts from people who lived through World War Two bombing campaigns can be heard on a new digital archive launched today in Lincolnshire.

    Their stories have been digitised and preserved for the future, along with photos, letters and other memorabilia.

    It's been created by experts at the University of Lincoln in partnership with the International Bomber Command Centre (pictured).

    Professor Heather Hughes, from Lincoln University, says they've had families bringing "suitcases and shoeboxes" full of memories from the war to contribute to the archive.

    A proposed ban on vaping and smoking in Boston's marketplace has been rejected after councillors labelled it "unreasonable".

    Council bosses were discussing the future of the town's marketplace after suggestions by local school students.

    But the smoking ban plan "encroached on human rights", councillors said.

    It comes just a month after student ideas submitted to the council were slammed by the council for being "bonkers".

    The amount of financial support people on benefits get towards their council tax bills in North East Lincolnshire could be reduced by a quarter, it's emerged.

    At the moment people can get up to 75% off their bills, but a proposed new cap for financial support would be 50% of the council tax bill per household.

    Councillors are due to meet later to discuss a public consultation over the proposal which they say could save the authority almost £2m per year.

    At least 2,500 people are now working in jobs connected to tourism in Lincoln, according to new figures.

    A 19-year-old has admitted making bogus bomb threats that triggered the evacuation of more than 400 UK schools, including some in Lincolnshire.

    George Duke-Cohan, from Watford, also caused an airport security scare by reporting a fake hijacking while on bail.

    At Luton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to three counts of making hoax bomb threats.

    The teenager was remanded in custody until his sentencing at Luton Crown Court on 21 September.

    A damning report by the Care Quality Commission highlights a catalogue of serious failings at a care home near Lincoln.

    The Eagle Nursing Home near Lincoln, which has now closed, had 21 residents.

    A report by the care watchdog rated it as inadequate after criticising its safety, leadership and how responsive it was to the needs of its residents in a report., external

    In one complaint, detailed in the report, a resident said they'd been cornered by another person living in the home who caused a bruise on their arm, which staff failed to take any notice of.

    Even after the resident slapped the man who'd caused the bruise, staff there still didn't take any notice.

    Another complaint said that some residents wandered about knocking on doors late at night, frightening other residents.
