    Police have renewed their appeal for information about a 16-year-old who's been missing from Nottingham for nearly three weeks.

    Connor Cooper disappeared from the Lenton area at about 17:00 on 21 October.

    In the week after going missing he was spotted in South Yorkshire and Lenton but his current whereabouts are not known.

    Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police, external.

    A Lincolnshire Co-op has said their staff are "left shaken" after a burglary this morning.

    It happened at the store on Burton Road in Lincoln at about 07:00 this morning.

    A man threatened staff and stole cash.

    A spokesperson for the Co-op said the staff were unharmed and colleagues are onsite to offer support and counselling.

    A man has been arrested and remains in custody, police said.

    Lincolnshire songwriter Bernie Taupin is auctioning off some of his most successful music in New York.

    His 50-year collaboration with Sir Elton John led to 40 top 10 hit records, making them one of pop music's greatest songwriting duos.

    Taupin was born near Sleaford and grew up in north Lincolnshire, which he used as inspiration for some of his songs.

    The 1974 track Grimsby was inspired by his visits to the town.

    A Co-op on Burton Road in Lincoln has been robbed.

    A man made threats to staff and stole cash at about 07:00 this morning.

    A man matching the description given to the police was seen heading toward the train station.

    He has been arrested and remains in custody.

    The navigation race sees drivers in classic cars dashing over to France for a crate of Beaujolais Nouveau, a pink-red wine made from grapes that ferment for only a few weeks in the autumn.

    Everyone's favourite bear will be making a special appearance at Boston Park Run this weekend.

    Pudsey is going to be taking part at the event Witham Valley Country Park on Saturday.

    It's ahead of his appearance at Lincoln's New Theatre Royal , externalnext Friday.

    Tickets for the extravaganza, parts of which will be broadcast on television, are still available.

    All the proceeds will be going to BBC Children in Need appeal.

    A family GP died after staff at Lincoln County Hospital failed to diagnose he was suffering from a serious heart condition, an inquest has heard.

    Doctor Mark Howard, who was a GP in Welton near Lincoln. went to hospital in February complaining of chest pains.

    The inquest at Lincoln Cathedral Centre heard how Dr Howard couldn't be admitted to the specialist cardiology unit because it was full.

    Instead he was examined by four locum clinicians, who failed to identify he was suffering from a condition called aortic dissection, and sent him home.

    He died a few days later.

    His wife Michaela Howard told the inquest the treatment her husband received at Lincoln County Hospital in the days before his death was "DIY hospital care" and that he would still be alive if he'd received the care he should have had.

    Delivering a narrative verdict, Coroner Paul Smith said that if the diagnosis had been made the necessary surgery would have been successful.

    Police are appealing for information after a robbery at a convenience store in Spalding.

    A man threatened staff at the Fantasia store on Bourne Road with a BB gun at about 20:30 on 5 November.

    He asked them to empty the contents of the till into a grey rucksack, but when they refused he left empty-handed.

    A&E waiting times at hospitals in Lincolnshire are the worst in the country, new figures show.

    When people arrive at A&E, the target is that 95% of them are treated or admitted within four hours. But United Lincolnshire's Hospitals NHS Trust is only achieving 67%.

    The trust is also below target on the number of patients starting cancer treatment within 62 days of being referred by GP and having a planned operation within 18 weeks.

    A spokesperson for United Lincolnshire's Hospitals NHS Trust says staff had a busy summer with record numbers of patients going to our A&E.

    They added they have plans in place for the winter.

  15. Fatal ambulance crash driver will be 'truly missed'published at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2018

    Tributes have been paid to the driver of a private ambulance who died in a fatal crash with a lorry in Lincolnshire.

    The crash happened on the A16 between Boston and Sibsey on Wednesday.

    The driver and passenger of the ambulance, a 60-year-old man from Sleaford and an 84-year-old woman from Skegness, died from their injuries.

    In a statement, Thames Ambulance Service said the driver, whose name is yet to be released, was a trusted and valued member of their team and will be "truly missed".

    Two people have been arrested on suspicion of human trafficking offences in Lincolnshire.

    The 42-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were questioned following an operation in Gedney yesterday.

    Six people believed to have been trafficked to the county for work in the food services sector were found at the address.

    Those arrested have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

    An investigation into three Humberside Police officers who were arrested last month will be supervised by the police watchdog, it's been confirmed.

    Two officers were arrested in October on suspicion of misconduct in public office and later released, but were suspended from work as inquiries continued.

    A third officer is currently in custody, according to Humberside Police.

    In a statement, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said it decided a "supervised investigation" was needed after assessing the referral by the forced.

    The inquiry into a proposed electricity link between Denmark and the UK which, if given the go-ahead, will run through the Lincolnshire Wolds, has concluded.

    The scheme would see electricity brought to the UK under the sea from Denmark, via Mablethorpe.

    Planning inspector John Felgate has now retired to consider his decision over whether the Viking Link cable will be allowed.

    Yesterday, objectors reiterated that two-and-a-half years of construction was a long time for them to "put up with the disturbance".

    But QC Michael Humphries concluded by saying refusing planning permission would "compromise" the UK's ability to meet its energy needs.
