    All PCSOs and 130 police officers could be cut in East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire if pension changes go ahead, according to a group of MPs.

    Eight MPs from the area have written to the Home Secretary Sajid Javid to raise concerns about government plans to increase the amount police forces contribute to officers' pensions.

    It could cost the force £2.6m next year and £6.6m the year after, according to Humberside Police.

    A spate of fly-tipping incidents near Louth has sparked an appeal for help finding the culprits.

    In the past few weeks, East Lindsey District Council has dealt with a number of dumps, with large amounts of glass being left on the roadside around Covernham St Mary.

    Councillor Sandra Harrison says: "Fly-tipping, such as that seen in Covenham St Mary, is a blight on our beautiful district and it's an issue the council takes very seriously."

    The council says it wants anyone with information to get in touch and to make sure that residents are aware of their responsibilities when it comes to the disposal of waste.

    The International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln will get its first royal visit later this month, it's been confirmed.

    Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, will tour the IBCC from about 14:00 on Wednesday 28 November.

    He says he is particularly keen to try out the centre's Bomber Crew Challenge - an immersive experience which lets visitors see what it was like to be on a bombing raid.

    A Moroccan-style market which was due to join Thor's Tipi and a herd of Cairngorm reindeer as Christmas attractions in Lincoln has been cancelled.

    The Moroccan souk, which was to be held in the old Ruddock's premises, was due to start in mid-November and run until the end of the year.

    But Lincoln Business Improvement Group, which organised the market, say it won't now go ahead because there wasn't enough time to organise all the traders coming here from Morocco.

    A man on a mobility scooter suffered serious head injuries during an assault in Lincoln.

    It happened on Sewells Walk in the Sincil Bank area of the city on Saturday afternoon.

    Police say it was an isolated incident and not related to the football.

    The victim was treated in hospital and has now been released.

    East Lindsey District Council has dropped its objections to a project to import electricity from Denmark and take it under the Lincolnshire Wolds.

    The National Grid wants to lay 40 miles of cabling between Mablethorpe and Bicker Fen, near Boston.

    The council now says it's accepted the impact on the Wolds would be temporary.

    It's offered no evidence to defend its earlier decision to refuse permission for Viking Link electricity cables.

    Third party objections will continue, however.

    A planning appeal hearing started today and is expected to last four days.

    Plans to create a thrill ride and what's described as the UK's first "musical road" at the Humber Bridge have been revealed as part of plans to turn the landmark into a major tourist attraction.

    The Humber Bridge Board has revealed a £30m, 10-year-plan for the crossing, which it says will be entirely self-funded with none of the cash coming from toll charges.

    One of the plans is to install musical rumble strips on the road which play a tune when cars drive over them.

    The proposals also include running hard-hat tours to the top of the north tower in the short-term and eventually building rides over and under the road.

    PepsiCo, which owns Pepsi and Doritos, has announced it wants to buy premium brand Pipers Crisps, external which is based in North Lincolnshire.

    A Lincolnshire academic has backed warnings that music education should be for all children and not just the privileged.

    The Musicians' Union is concerned that there are now fewer opportunities for children to learn musical instruments at school and it says music education is deteriorating around the country.

    The union is calling on the government to urgently review its offering of instrumental music tuition in schools, saying fewer youngsters are learning to play instruments - with cost being a major factor.

    Five hundred extra school places could be created for pupils with special educational needs across Lincolnshire.

    Lincolnshire County Council plans to improve services for children with special educational needs and disabilities over the next five years.

    Seven academies and three local authority schools will be altered under the plan.

    Senior councillors are expected to sign off on the £50m scheme today.

    Heather Sandy, chief officer for education at the county council, said the strategy is "ambitious" and will help to meet the needs of parents and pupils.

    A Spalding man has been jailed after attempting to torch his girlfriend's flat when she broke up with him.

    28-year-old James Quantrill locked himself in the bathroom of the flat before starting a fire and telling his partner "we're going to die together tonight".

    Lincoln Crown Court heard that Quantrill, who has a previous conviction for manslaughter, was addicted to class A drugs at the time of the offence.

    His actions came after his then partner Samantha Parsons told him she wanted to end their 10 month relationship.

    Ms Parson panicked when Quantrill locked himself in the bathroom and set a fire.

    She was unable to find the key to their flat.

    The police arrived and broke down the doors to drag the unconscious Quantrill to safety.

    Quantrill, of Willesby Road Spalding, pleaded guilty to a charge of arson and has been sentenced to four years in prison.

    The court heard since being remanded into custody he's been put on medication and there has been a marked improvement in his mental health.

    A planning inspector will today begin hearing arguments for and against a new underground electricity cable through the Lincolnshire Wolds.

    The National Grid wants to lay 40 miles of cabling between Mablethorpe and Bicker Fen near Boston.

    It would carry high-voltage electricity imported from Denmark.

    East Lindsey District Council refused permission, fearing the impact upon farming and the landscape.
