"I am pleased a dangerous man is off the streets of Essex.
"Most importantly I want to praise the victim for his courage through the investigation and hope this sentence brings some solace."

Members of the public heard his screams and came to his aid and he was taken to hospital.
Essex Police described his injuries as something "he'll have to live with for the rest of his life".
Eastwood, 22, of Langlands Drive, Dartford, Kent, was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent at Basildon Crown Court during a trial in January and today he was sentenced.
