    Police are appealing for the public's help in tracing a teenager who may be missing in the Greenwich area of south east London.

    Luca Maglio, 14, was last seen at 20:30 on Sunday when he left his home in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire.

    He is 5ft 11ins, slim with blue eyes and was last seen wearing black jeans, grey trainers and a navy blue puffa jacket.

    Drivers in UK cities spent more than a day each year stuck in rush hour traffic, new research has shown.

    Motorists in London lost an average of 74 hours - more than three days - in 2017, an hour more than in 2016.

    Manchester was next with an average of 39 hours, followed by Lincoln and Birmingham, according to data from Inrix.

    The Department for Transport (DfT) said it was investing £23bn in road schemes which would reduce congestion.

    Theresa May is to hail the "heroism" of the suffragettes 100 years after some women won the vote.

    The prime minister will also warn that online abuse and intimidation is threatening democracy, in a speech in Manchester to mark the centenary.

    The Representation of the People Act, passed on 6 February 1918, gave women over 30 and "of property" the vote.

    Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said the struggle for equality was continuing, 100 years on.

    Stagecoach's contract to run the East Coast Mainline rail franchise will end earlier than expected after the government said the operator had "got its numbers wrong".

    Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said Stagecoach would continue running the London to Edinburgh line only for "a small number of months and no more".

    He said the government may step in to run the service.

    He added that the day-to-day operation of the line would be unaffected.

    The mayor of London has announced plans to transform a tunnelling site into a new neighbourhood with 1,500 homes.

    Sadiq Khan said Transport for London (TfL) is seeking to develop the 12.3 acre Limmo Peninsula in Newham, east London.

    The site is currently being used to build the new Elizabeth Line, which is due to open in December.

    Six hundred of the 1,500 planned homes will be "genuinely affordable", the mayor said.
