    A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 22-year-old Kwabena Nelson, from Tottenham.

    The suspect is currently being held at a police station in north London on suspicion of murder.

    The arrest comes after Mr Nelson died from stab wounds on 3 February.

    A post-mortem held at Haringey Mortuary gave the cause of Mr Nelson's death as hypovolemic shock and multiple stab wounds.

    A victim lost several teeth when he was punched outside a nightclub in central London.

    The male victim, 29, was hospitalised after the "unprovoked and nasty" attack outside Ruby Blue, on Leicester Square, in the early hours of 24 November.

    Police have released a photo of a man wanted for questioning in connection with the assault in the hope he can be identified.

  17. Eurostar to begin London to Amsterdam service on Easterpublished at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2018

    Eurostar has announced it will start a direct service between London St Pancras and Amsterdam Centraal on 4 April.

    Trains will also run between London and Rotterdam following Eurostar's expansion into the Netherlands.

    Two trains per day will depart St Pancras at 08:31 and 17:31 GMT

    During the initial period, passengers will travel direct from London to Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

    On the return journey will connect through Brussels where passport controls and security screening will be carried out.

    This connecting return journey will be a temporary measure whilst the governments in the UK and The Netherlands complete an agreement which will enable passport checks to be conducted on departure in The Netherlands.

  18. Woman rescued from Hanwell flat firepublished at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2018

    A woman had to be rescued after a fire broke out in a flat in Hanwell, Ealing, this morning.

    Four fire engines and 21 firefighters - from Ealing, Southall and Acton Fire Stations - were called to Gifford Gardens at 07:03 GMT and had the blaze under control by 07:42 GMT.

    London Fire Brigade said there were no reports of any injuries.

    The cause of the fire, which damaged part of the three-roomed flat, is currently under investigation.
