These are the first official estimates of the number of deaths of homeless people, which show 84% of those who died were men. Charities say the numbers confirm what they are seeing locally.
The ONS figures show that there were 492 deaths among homeless people in 2013, rising to 597 in 2017.
A detailed breakdown shows:
• more than half of the deaths were because of drug poisoning, liver disease or suicide • London and north-west England had the highest proportion of deaths• the average age of death was 44 for men and 42 for women, compared with 76 for men and 81 for women among the rest of the population
Three men have been charged with bribery offences after an investigation into spot-fixing during cricket tournaments in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
They were all served with written summonses by the National Crime Agency (NCA) charging them with committing bribery and conspiracy to commit bribery.
The following:
are all due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on 15 January.
The NCA said it carried out its investigation alongside the International Cricket Council and Pakistan Cricket Board, which had suspended three players.
Maureen Whale, who had lived in her Barnet home all her life, collapsed and died after a burglary.

A recording of the call, which happened on 21 March, has been released by the Met Police along with six other recordings to raise awareness of inappropriate use of the emergency phone number.
The other calls included:
- A woman called police to wish them a Happy New Year on 1 January - A woman demanding a specific taxi driver to pick her up - A man who said a bus driver had shut the door in his face, when in fact the bus had broken down and no one was allowed to board - A man who said his breakfast had not been served quickly enough at a central London pub - A man complaining of another motorist's driving - A woman who wanted to report a bus driver for whistling throughout her journey
Between 1 January and 30 November this year, the Met’s Command and Control call centre took more than two million calls.
During that same period, the Met recorded 21,733 calls as hoax calls to the 999 number.
Ch Supt David Jackson, who is in charge of call handling for the Met, said: “During the time that our call handlers are dealing with these time-wasting calls, a member of the public could be in real danger or have built up the confidence to call with an important piece of information that could take a dangerous person off the streets."

Arsenal Football Club says it is studying CCTV footage to try and identify a supporter who threw a plastic water bottle at the Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli.
It happened during last night's League Cup quarter final at the Emirates which Spurs won 2-0.
Earlier this month a Spurs fan was fined and banned from football for four years for throwing a banana skin towards the Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
Spurs will join Chelsea, who beat Bournemouth 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, Manchester City and Burton Albion in the hat for the League Cup semi final draw.

A 40-year-old man is still being held by police investigating four stabbings at a GP surgery and community health centre in Bow yesterday morning.
Police were initially called to reports of a stabbing at a GP practice on St Stephen's Road and a short time later there were also reports of a stabbing at a section location around 125m away in William Place.
Two men, aged 24 and 33, and two women, aged 77 and 54, were taken to hospital following the incident - but none were critically injured.
One man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in custody.
Detectives are appealing for anyone else who was injured but hasn't yet come forward to do so.
This morning looks set to be partly cloudy at first with a few showers around.

By tonight any showers fading at first, leading into a dry and clearer evening.

Ruksana Ashraf admitted three counts of fraud relating to false insurance claims made between 2012 and 2017.
The court heard the 44-year-old from Edinburgh used multiple mobile phone SIM cards and fake names and addresses to take out dozens of insurance policies and then make bogus claims.
Daniel King, defending, appealed for a suspended sentence and said his client had not used the cash to live an "exotic" lifestyle.
But this was dismissed by Judge Wood QC who said it was "disgraceful" to have used terrorist attacks and disasters to make false claims and jailed Ashraf for three years.
The man said he wanted police to kill him when he attacked them with a sword outside Buckingham Palace.
