  5. Man 'threatened with gun' in road rage incidentpublished at 09:49 British Summer Time 25 April 2016

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened with a gun in a road rage incident.

    The 22-year-old was on Mancunian Way at 15:40 on Friday 15 April when another car attempted to get through.

    As he sat in traffic at Princess Parkway, the driver of the other car attempted to hit him then lifted his top "to reveal a small black gun stuck into the front of his waistband."

    He threatened the man and pulled the firearm out slightly, before getting back into his car and driving towards Medlock Street.

    The Grade I listed church, also known as St Mary's, has had to have a new floor laid as the force of the flood water lifted concrete slabs in the bell tower.

  9. Man dies in head-on crash in Hazel Grovepublished at 08:42 British Summer Time 25 April 2016

    A man in his 40s has died and another man suffered serious injuries after a head-on crash in Hazel Grove, Stockport on Sunday.

    A Mini and a Volvo collided on the A6 Buxton Road yesterday afternoon.  

    Police said a 43-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a 23-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital.
