    The Queen's message in full...

    Quote Message

The whole nation has been shocked by the death and injury in Manchester last night of so many people, adults and children, who had just been enjoying a concert. I know I speak for everyone in expressing my deepest sympathy to all who have been affected by this dreadful event and especially to the families and friends of those who have died or were injured. I want to thank all the members of the emergency services, who have responded with such professionalism and care. And I would like to express my admiration for the way the people of Manchester have responded, with humanity and compassion, to this act of barbarity.

Greater Manchester Police representatives in Stockholm have been meeting with their Swedish and Dutch counterparts to discuss the impact of last night's attack on Wednesday's Europa League football final between Manchester United and Ajax.

It is understood the GMP delegation, led by chief superintendent John O'Hare, have been in communication with Manchester-based colleagues throughout the night.

Manchester United and Ajax officials, plus representatives of European football's governing body Uefa, are also due to attend what is being described as a routine meeting.

United say they do not comment on the team's security plans.

Uefa has accepted a request from the club not to hold their pre-match press conference this evening.
