Traffic in Liverpool has come to a standstill and roads across the city are blocked as thousands of people have turned out to welcome home the Reds.
This was the scene in Allerton.
Meanwhile in Liverpool city centre thousands of people have gathered on The Strand.
Wearing shirts emblazoned with "Champions of Europe" with a number six on the back, the players look delighted to see the huge crowds.
Chants of "Allez, allez, allez" are filling the air as the players join in with the flag waving.
Among those nursing a sore head from last night's celebrations was 20-year-old James Clewloe from Oswestry who watched the game in Liverpool before being joined by his family today.
Dad Nick, 47, said: “The European Cup is the biggest trophy you can win and being here today is the next best thing to having been in Madrid.
“This puts us back at the top table of European football and hopefully we’re here to stay.”
James added: “The hangover is forgotten now. Last night was an amazing experience and seeing the trophy today caps it all off.”
The Strand is now full, Liverpool City Council has said, external.
Anyone heading to that area is asked to spread out along the route for a better view.

Liverpool's homecoming parade is well under way now and crowds have packed the city's streets - with some even clambering onto street furniture for a prime view.

There are the current scenes at The Strand in the city centre.
Flares are trailing red smoke and there is sporadic outbreaks of the club’s European anthem, Allez, Allez, Allez.
There’s a stiff breeze and the sun is yet to put in an appearance but Reds fans are in fine voice high spirits in what is an electric atmosphere.

Sadly for Tottenham it was Liverpool's night, and boy are the fans enjoying it.

Among the throngs gathered on Strand Street are the Williams family from Ellesmere Port.
Dave Williams, 52, said: “Last night was spine tingling. They’ve fought so hard all the way and deserve a heroes’ welcome."
He added: “The hairs on the back of my neck are standing on end at the thought of seeing the cup back in the city where it belongs.”
Son Alex, 16, added: “This puts Klopp up there with Shankly and Paisley no doubt.”
The streets of Liverpool are awash with red shirts as fans clamour to catch a glimpse of their heroes.

People are doing everything they can to make sure they get a great view!

Liverpool City Council is advising fans to line the full length of the route, external, as there will be no central focal point to the parade.
The Strand is already very busy with people hoping to catch a glimpse of the team.
Merseyside Police is advising drivers to avoid the area and people to line the whole parade route for their best chance of seeing the team.
