We shouldn't have too long to wait to find out, as Elizabeth Rizzini will be here next to tell us what we've got to look forward to, weather-wise.

Poor weather has put a hold on plans for two Norfolk adventurers to cross the English Channel on inflatable paddleboards in aid of the RNLI.

Charlie Graham-Wood (pictured left) and Lewis Gray, who live in north Norfolk, were due to make the crossing last week.

"It didn't happen because the weather was the worse it's been all year," said Mr Graham-Wood.

"There wasn't a single day where it was even close to being border line... they even cancelled ferries for the first time this year - we couldn't have picked a worse week if we'd have tried."

The duo have been training for the crossing for the last six months off the Norfolk coast at Sheringham and along The Broads.

"It's frustrating, but we're trying to make the best of it. The training has just got 10 times harder as we just don't know when we're going - my living room is like paddle HQ at the moment as if we get a window, we just need to go," he said.

"We're ready to go a drop of hat - but who knows when? If there's a week day between now and the end of October we'll go."

The cross-channel paddle season ends in October, but the friends are trying to stay upbeat about the challenge.

"It's hard," Mr Graham-Wood said, "but on the positive side it gives us more time to raise more cash for RNLI Sheringham, external."
