    The Cobblers started life back in the third tier with a draw

    They took just nine minutes to open their account in League One when David Buchanan's shot was only partially cleared, Alex Revell's effort hit the post and the ball bounced into the net off the diving Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Chris Neal.

    But Fleetwood were back on level terms seven minutes into the second half when the Cobblers failed to deal with Conor McLaughlin's cross and Victor Nirennold stole in at the far post to score.

    Trampolining became an Olympic sport back in 2000 in Sydney and the rise in popularity of the discipline both in Northamptonshire and across the country is, in part, down to Tracy Whittaker-Smith.

    She is the driving (or should that be bouncing) force behind the Northamptonshire Trampoline Gymnastics Academy, external and is the head coach for the Great Britain trampoline team at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

    She was also a coach at London 2012 and took Northampton's Jamie Moore to the Sydney 2000 games to compete in the inaugral trampolining competition.

    Whittaker-Smith's team starts their quest for a medal on Friday, 12 August.

    Northampton sailor Dylan Fetcher will partnering Alain Sign in the 49er class in the Olympics sailing, which starts a week today.

    Although born in London, the 28-year-old now lives in Northamptonshire and trained at the Northampton Sailing Club, external at Pitsford, starting aged 11 when his parents sent him on a week's course at the club.

    In fact, Flectcher has been dreaming of an Olympic medal for a while. 

    In this article from 2006, a 14-year-old Dylan cites his ambition as a gold at 2012 London Olympics. 

    He might have had to wait another four years, but he'll be hoping to make good on that dream a decade on.

    Tonight it's the opening ceremony of the Rio Olympics, so ahead of that we'll look at the Northamptonshire competitors and coaches who'll be hoping to shine in Brazil.

    First up is Burton Latimer golfer Charley Hull.

    The 20-year-old will be joining Scotland's Catriona Matthew for Team GB in the golf competition which starts on Wednesday, 17 August.

    The tournament is a standard four round, lowest score wins, and while some of the top names from the men's game have pulled out, the vast majority of the best female players are in Rio.

    Northamptonshire's second innings is under way in St Helen's having bowled out Glamorgan for 236 giving the county a first innings lead of 85.

    Contractors working on the restoration of Delapre Abbey, external have discovered an unusual archaeological feature – a Victorian plunge pool.

    The £7.2m revamp has been under way since March last year, co-funded by Northampton Borough Council, external and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

    The abbey started life as a Cluniac nunnery in the 12th Century and has served many different purposes since.

    The council is hoping to open the house by February 2017.

    The Cobblers face Fleetwood tomorrow in their League One opener and on Tuesday they travel to Barnsley for the EFL cup, which Page is also thinking about.

    The Northampton Town, external chairman has described the club's lack of a home kit as "embarrassing".

    Yesterday, the club revealed that a delivery delay with the suppliers has left them without enough home kit to wear for their first match of the season at Sixfields against Fleetwood on Saturday.

    Kelvin Thomas said he was "very disappointed", but the club made an early decision to "play in the away kit [pictured] and draw a line under it".

    However, he did admit that it "gives the other clubs a chance to take the mick out of us".
