Trade unions are urging the government to do more to protect the British steel industry following thousands of job losses.
The issue is being debated at the TUC's annual conference in Brighton, with delegates urging ministers to make sure UK steel is used in all major construction projects.
More than 500 people are employed at Tata steel in Corby.
Quote MessageWe will not be silent until there is a long-term industrial strategy for steel. We will not let steel communities be forgotten."

Contrasting centuries here today. Alex Wakely's was full of confidence, bristling pulls and authoritative drives.
He perhaps hasn't delivered the runs his talent has promised so far in his career - this was his first ton of the summer, taking him over a modest 600 runs in 18 innings.
Rob Newton (pictured) doesn't possess the natural strokeplay of Wakely and is forced to graft for his runs.
But he's got stuck in well and made a third ton of the summer in slightly quicker time than Wakely. He's out of contract, but a double ton against Leicestershire a month ago and now this hundred may have earned him a new deal.
Northamptonshire need a specialist Championship opener and Newton could yet be their man.

The Old Bailey has heard 21 out of 26 boys who say they were abused by James McCann at St Francis boys' home in Shefford, Bedfordshire, were subjected to a punishment known as The Clappers.
Opening the prosecution, John Price QC told jurors: "Mr McCann would routinely and seemingly at his whim assault children by clapping the flat of his hands simultaneously over each of their ears."
Mr McCann (pictured outside a previous hearing) denies 52 charges of violent and sexual assaults on boys, aged between eight and 12.
In a statement read to the court, one alleged victim spoke of receiving The Clappers.
"The pain was searing, I saw stars, there was a loud ringing in my head and I was disorientated and dizzy," he said.
Mr McCann, 80, of Swaffham, Norfolk, has been pronounced unfit to stand trial at the Old Bailey and the jury is being asked to consider the facts alone.
When interviewed by police about the allegations in 2013 and 2015, Mr McCann denied they took place.

A meeting is being held tonight to find ways of providing more help in Northampton for Syrian refugees.
The event will take place at The Guildhall at 18:30. It comes on the day the government is due to announce how many refugees the country as a whole will take.
Labour councillor Danielle Stone, one of the organisers of the Northampton meeting, said the council wants to show the town is "willing" to support refugees.
She also said people who are "unsure" about welcoming refugees should come to the meeting to "see what we can do".

"Northamptonshire have made swift progress since lunch and are now dominating this opening day.
"Alex Wakely has looked in superb touch and skipped down the wicket to lift Jack Taylor over mid-on for six - he took two Taylor overs for 19 to whack him out of the attack.
"But, there is still just a bit in it for the bowlers and the ball is occasionally beating the bat.
"Gloucestershire haven't found enough control in the field."

Former Wales captain Gareth Thomas says England skipper and Northampton Saints hooker Dylan Hartley should lead the 2017 British and Irish Lions to New Zealand.
Thomas says Hartley's experience of helping to beat southern hemisphere teams gives him the edge.
"We talk about (tour coach Warren) Gatland and his knowledge because he's a New Zealander, but also you want knowledge from people who know how to beat these teams," said Thomas.
"I think Dylan Hartley will bring that."

The Old Bailey has heard a "cruel and sadistic" carer molested boys at a Catholic children's home in Bedfordshire and terrorised them with a punishment known as The Clappers.
James McCann, 80, of Swaffham, Norfolk, denies violent and sexual assaults on 26 boys aged between eight and 12.
The court heard he repeatedly abused the boys at St Francis children's home in Shefford in the 1960s and '70s. It was run by the Roman Catholic diocese of Northampton and closed in 1974.
Judge Rebecca Poulet QC told jurors Mr McCann was not fit to stand trial and it was therefore their job to decide the facts alone.

In March this year Tata Steel said it would sell some or all of its remaining UK business, including the plant in Corby.
However, Tata announced in July it was putting that process on hold while it pursued a European tie-up.
One of the biggest stumbling blocks to the sale of the UK business has been the legacy of the British steel pension fund, which Tata inherited when it bought the business in 2007.
The fund has 130,000 members and a deficit of £700m.
Tata said today that talks about the pension deficit were continuing with all relevant parties, including the UK government, trustees and unions.
The afternoon is going to stay dry and fine and become increasingly sunny and warm, with a top temperature of 23C (73F).

"Productive morning for the hosts having been sent in.
"Definitely appeared the right choice to bowl first at 10:30 with a bit of dew on the ground and grass on the wicket but Gloucestershire haven't backed up their excellent new ball attack of David Payne and Liam Norwell.
"Norwell picked up the first wicket to fall - a good'un that left Ben Duckett - and both he and Payne have caused a few plays and misses.
"But, Alex Wakely and Rob Newton have got stuck in and made it the hosts morning."
