The council also said because Kettering Town were looking at securing a long-term lease at Latimer Park, their link with the Rockingham Ground was no longer "maintained", having left the ground in 2011.

Despite this, Kettering Town chairman Ritchie Jeune indicated on social media, external he was not happy with the decision.

  8. Northamptonshire 'one of UK's worst counties for homophobic and sexist tweets'published at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2016

    BBC News UK

Northamptonshire is one of only two areas of the UK, along with South Ayrshire, which exhibited high levels of hate speech in tweets across all three topics of misogyny, masculinity constructs and homophobia, a study has claimed.

Social intelligence company Brandwatch and anti-bullying charity Ditch the Label analysed 19 million tweets from the UK and the US over four years.

Researchers said, aside from the three areas of hate speech listed above, regional distribution of discrimination appeared to be random and inconsistent across topics.

They said this suggested that discrimination across the UK was concentrated within a few regional pockets, and the majority of areas exhibited a more balanced range of views online.

Back in 2011 the law was clarified and journalists no longer had to ask permission to tweet, text or email from court.

Permission could be withdrawn at any time, however, if it interfered with the administration of justice, but our Craig thinks he's fine on that point...

I'm at Wellingborough Magistrates' Court, where the first case has gone through and has been dismissed - a year after the defendant allegedly committed an offence.

The defendant was charged with criminal damage, but the only witness didn't turn up at court today. The prosecutor Mr Evans said he had no detail as to items that were allegedly stolen in Rushden in November 2015.

Mr Evans said he was "amazed" they'd reached this point - a third hearing - without any such evidence.

The defence called it a "shocking case" that is a year old and called for it to be dismissed. They said adjournments were "scandalous - they take up court time and are costly".

The magistrates agreed and dismissed the case, saying there were "no grounds for adjourning this case". The defendant left a free man.

If you are unfamiliar with the exploits of Brackley Town, then you might wonder why they are nicknamed The Saints.

Well, like the Northampton Saints, it's because of their association with St. James. The ground is called St. James Park and it's near St. James lake. The chapel at the nearby Magdalen College School is St. James chapel.

Then there is the club's mascot Sammy the Saint, who was enjoying the limelight during last night's first-round replay win over Gillingham...
