  3. Warning after boy electrocuted at rail depot near Daventrypublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 28 June 2017

We've been following the death of an 11-year-old boy who died after sustaining serious electrical burns at a rail depot.

Assistant chief constable Robin Smith, of the British Transport Police, said: "It's a deeply tragic incident when a young person dies on the railway.

"We recognise that trespass is an issue on the railway and there is an attraction to young people to go near the railway, and if we can learn anything from this it is how dangerous it is.

"We have our own unit to understand where our hot spots are, but the best thing we can do is prevent it happening. A lot of fencing is already going up, but it would have to be very long and expensive to fence every route.

"The real answer, given the tragic events, is that parents and schools do their best to reinforce that message [of the dangers]."

Plymouth Argyle have re-signed former Rangers winger Gregg Wylde (pictured right), while left-back Aaron Taylor-Sinclair (pictured left) has also joined the League One side.

Wylde, 26, left the Pilgrims for Millwall last summer but had his Lions contract cancelled in May.

Fellow Scot Taylor-Sinclair, also 26, had spent the past two seasons with Doncaster but was released after their promotion to the third tier.

Left-back Gary Sawyer has also signed a new deal to remain at Home Park.

The 31-year-old has made 72 appearances since rejoining the Pilgrims for a second spell in 2015.

He helped them win promotion to League One last term, but was restricted to playing 22 games because of injuries.

"Our thoughts are with the family of the boy and we are doing all we can to understand exactly what led to Harrison's death," said Supt Chris Hodgkiss.

"We understand news of this will also be devastating to his friends and the wider community, especially four boys who were with him when the incident happened.

    Rail depot scene

"We are working closely with the rail industry and local partners, including Harrison's school, who are ensuring plans are in place to support pupils.

"As well as investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, our focus is also on preventing any other children from coming to harm in a similar way."

Supt Hodgkiss also asked parents to remind their children of the dangers of trespassing on the railway.
