Leicestershire cricketer Charlie Shreck has spoken out about the bad language he used during the match against Loughborough last month that resulted in him being suspend for two County Championship games.
His comments come in response to an article in The Times newspaper, external that said: “The Times was told by one source that Shreck said he would 'kill' Loughborough University opener Hasan Azad, although the county deny that.”
Shreck has released this statement through the club to stress further that this was not what he said...
Quote Message"I did not use that wording on the cricket field. To say that I threatened to kill somebody is wholly false. I accept the three penalty points for the Level 1 offence, and the club’s punishment, and will now work hard on gaining my place in the First XI for the Specsavers County Championship game against Glamorgan."

"It's luck of the draw really - you only need one thing to go wrong and somebody dies."

Patients will be able to use the Merlyn Vaz Centre on Spinney Hill Road in Leicester for at least another three years.
The GP surgery had been earmarked for closure, but the city's clinical commissioning group has said they took into account the views expressed by patients and decided it wasn't a good idea to move the service until there is more clarity on the future of the General Hospital site.
This is under consultation as part of the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP).
Quote Message“Coupling the views of patients and stakeholders with the lack of certainty about what other services may or may not be provided from the General campus in the future, we felt that now was simply not the right time to move the service. By procuring the contract for a minimum of three years it enables us to offer certainty to patients in the medium term."

Leicestershire County Cricket club has welcomed a judge's decision, external to jail Mustafa Bashir for attacking his wife.
The 33-year-old had originally been given a suspended sentence after falsely claiming in court he had been offered a contract by the club.
His sentence was reviewed by the judge after his lying was exposed.
Chief executive Wasim Khan said: “The club is deeply committed to the White Ribbon campaign set up to tackle domestic violence, so we were horrified at being used as a means for someone who had been convicted of appalling violence to his wife to escape imprisonment.
"His new sentence of 18 months in prison is a much more fitting punishment for what he did and good news for the fight against domestic violence.”
