    The region's textiles industry is experiencing a revival. 

    New figures from the National Textiles Growth Programme shows that 444 jobs were created in Leicestershire in the last four years as a result of investment.

    Around 100 jobs were created in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire over the same period and textiles factories are also opening up more apprenticeship roles as investment increases.

    "But we have a parliamentary system and we have to make sure we get a maximum number of Labour MPs... to restrain the Conservatives."

    Derby's Adam Peaty booked his place at this summer's World Championships when he successfully defended his British 100-metre breaststroke title in Sheffield yesterday.

    The 22-year-old, who became Britain's first male Olympic swimming champion for 28 years at the Rio Olympics, took the British 100m breaststroke title in 57.79 seconds.

    He's said he now wants to break his own world record of 57.13 that he set in Rio last year.

    A man is to appear in court today charged with the murder of 18-year-old Matthew Rothery.

    Mr Rothery was found with stab wounds at a house in Woodborough Road, Mapperley Park, at about 01:00 BST on Good Friday. He later died in hospital.

    Nathan Towsey, 20, from Mapperley will appear at Nottingham Crown Court today charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

    Ranieri wasn't on anybody's radar and clearly they went for a big name and it worked.

    There's just part of me that feels a little bit sorry for Craig Shakespeare because the same thing might happen again.

    He almost becomes unemployable because wherever he goes, if he goes in as a number two, the moment you have a bad game he's going to want the job and someone's going to get sacked.

    So no-one is going to want to employ him as a number two. Does he get a big job as a number one? I think that will be difficult. Will he want to step down to the Championship? Probably not, because he's still very inexperienced.
