    One of Leicester's oldest and well-loved Chinese restaurants is closing its doors after almost five decades in the business.

    The two-storey restaurant was previously called The Lotus.

    After it changed ownership it became The Peking, owned by Maureen Cheung.

    It quickly became a firm favourite for many food lovers over the years. But due to financial reasons, it's now closed for good.

    But despite closing Maureen says she will cherish the happy memories of her customers and the friendships she has made over the years.

    Staff at Nottingham's Victoria Centre are being asked to do more to help police tackle violent crime in and around the building.

    It follows a mass brawl involving more than a dozen people, including a man caught with a large machete, and an assault that left an 18-year-old in intensive care.

    Nottinghamshire's police and crime commissioner Paddy Tipping has met with staff from the centre and says they can help to be the eyes and ears and provide information to the police.

    Intu, which owns the centre, didn't want to comment.

    Severn Trent says it will continue to hand out bottled water, external to people at a supermarket car park in Ashbourne this morning after a burst pipe left some homes without supplies for more than 30 hours.

    The firm's handling of the situation has been criticised by Derbyshire County Council leader Barry Lewis, who described it as "shambolic".

    The company has apologised and said it was taking a long time for the pipes to fill with water and reach everyone.
