A retired farmer suffered a "traumatic" brain injury after falling from a combine harvester, an inquest heard.
Arthur Widdowson, of Nether Handley, died at home in Belle Vue Farm, near Sheffield, on 20 September 2018.
The 88-year-old also suffered broken ribs after the fall, and also fell while being treated in hospital.
Chesterfield Coroner's Court heard a post-mortem examination gave a medical cause of death as pneumonia, with the brain injury and the fall from the combine harvester also recorded as factors.
Adjourning the inquest until 1 April, assistant coroner for Derbyshire Sarah Huntbach said Mr Widdowson's death "may have been due to circumstances other than natural causes".

People living in 22 cottages that flooded last October are still unable to return home.
The ground floor of Beth Moore's home in Stoney Stanton was "completely destroyed" by flood water.
She said: "We just couldn't believe what we could see in front of us - it was just like a torrent.
"There was water running over the hedges and there was water all in the road."
Along with her family, she's now living in a caravan in her back garden that's been provided by her insurance company.
A flood action group has also been set up in the area.
Ann Jackson, who is part of the group, said: "Our role is to establish what caused the flood and how it can be remedied so that this never happens again.
"It's also to help people be supported with insurance companies."

Road signs warning drivers of closed or flooded roads have been "thrown in a hedge" and found "broken in a ditch", according to a flood warden.
Robert Butler, who was worked in Leicestershire for eight years, noticed some of the signs being removed over the weekend.
"I went out on Sunday evening and they weren't where they were supposed to be," he said.
On Syston Road in Cossington, he said the signs warning of flooding were "thrown in a hedge" and "broken in a ditch".
At Mountsorrel Lane in Sileby, Mr Butler found signs in a nearby churchyard on the other side of a stone wall.
He said: "There's no way that could have happened from the wind - they were thrown."
He said he has reported this to Leicestershire County Council "several times".
A spokesman for the authority said: "Our highways team worked 24/7 during Storm Dennis and we monitor flooding sites to ensure that warning signs are in place.
"Unfortunately we are aware that these signs are regularly moved by members of the public, endangering road users."

A miniature dachshund stolen from a pub garden in Leicestershire has been reunited with her owner and puppies.
A campaign to find Lola began when she went missing in Stanton Under Bardon three weeks after giving birth.
Lisa Dean, from Beauty's Legacy - which helps find lost and stolen animals - said she received a phone call from a "brave member of the public" on Monday afternoon.
She contacted police and Lola was later recovered from a property in Whitwick.
"Lola is dramatically underweight and was filthy, dirty and exhausted," Ms Dean said.
"She has some superficial wounds to her face and tail.
"She was delighted to be home, very anxious and exhausted, but glad to be back with her puppies."
Leicestershire Police said no arrests have been made.

It's not only put-upon motorists and commuters who are feeling the strain of the Clifton Bridge closure, those working to fix the issue are also under pressure.
Catherine Brookes, regional director for Highways England, said inspectors will "continue to work round the clock" to assess the damage and reopen as many lanes "as soon as we can".
With a programme of repairs being drawn up that is set to last for the remainder of this year, she said workers were "grateful" for the patience and "continued understanding" shown while the bridge has been shut.

Drone pictures have revealed the extent of flooding in rural Nottinghamshire following Storm Dennis.
The Environment Agency's photographs show huge volumes of water covering fields between Carlton-on-Trent and Newark-on-Trent.
The government body said drones allow officers to inspect large areas quickly.
Operations manager Kelly Golds said it has been a "relentless" autumn and winter for rain.
She added workers have continued to give up their "out-of-hours time with friends and family" to lessen the impact of the storms.

The A52 is unlikely to fully reopen until next year, Highways England has confirmed.
Clifton Bridge, which is part of the road, has been shut while engineers assess corrosion damage, discovered two weeks ago.
The A52 was completely shut eastbound and one lane westbound - one eastbound lane has since reopened but there has been continuing travel disruption across Nottingham.
Highways England said it was "working round the clock".
In a statement, a spokesman added: "A programme of repair work is being drawn up which is likely to see limited lanes running in the eastbound direction for the remainder of this year."

An Eastwood man quarantined on a cruise ship in Japan has said watching reports on the flooding has given him some perspective on his situation.

They have now been told they will be flown back to the UK by the government but they do not know when and face at least another two weeks in quarantine.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham their situation is "inconvenient and depressing", but they have been watching reports on the floods and that has shown him "there are people worse off than [him]".

There is still a risk of flooding along the River Trent this morning as water levels remain high.
The good news is the Environment Agency said levels across the Trent should fall through today.
But continuing downpours means they will stay high for the next few days and the authority is still warning people in the red-marked areas to prepare a grab bag and move valuables off the ground.
