    Blists Hill Victorian town is hosting a zombie experience tomorrow, external, to raise money for Compton Hospice.

    It's similar to the events held at Shrewsbury's former Dana prison, with people paying money to be chased around by actors playing the role of zombies.

    This one will be a bit different from your ordinary zombie survival-experience though, because it will be set in Victorian England and takes place at night, to the glow of the gas-lamps.

    If you take your rubbish to one of the recycling centres in Telford, you need to know about some changes, which come into force on Monday.

    One of the biggest differences will be the move to a seven-day-a-week service.

    The Poppy Appeal is looking for volunteers in Shropshire to help run this year's collections.

    It says it wants collectors, drivers and event teams and is especially looking for help in Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock, High Ercall, Oswestry, Ludlow, Baschurch and Worthern.

    Around the country the appeal relies on more than 350,000 volunteers and is also supported by The Royal British Legion.

    A job-seeking graduate has been hoping to find work by handing out his CV to commuters at Birmingham's New Street station.

    Jamie Harris, 22, from Telford in Shropshire, said he had applied for many jobs but kept being told by prospective employers that he "needed more experience".

    The University of Leicester history graduate, who has just completed a masters degree at Lancaster University, stood with a sign in the station concourse, inviting people to take a copy of his CV.

    The NHS is organising a series of roadshows around the county to explain the current review of hospital services.

    They start on Monday 10 October and members of the Future Fit, external review team will be available to answer questions and pass on information.

    The Ministry of Defence has been censured by the Health and Safety Executive over the death of a 21-year-old soldier from Market Drayton.

    Fusilier Dean Griffiths, who was shot in the neck on "live" training exercise in Kent in 2011.

    The exercise involved troops approaching a specially built compound that had been created to simulate the type of building the troops would encounter in Afghanistan.

    The MoD has immunity from prosecution under health and safety law, so a censure is issued in cases where it has failed to comply and there would have been a realistic prospect of securing a conviction.

    After a successful fundraising appeal Shropshire's fire and rescue service is fully equipped with pet oxygen-masks - costing £90 each.

    The mask which rescued Harriet the fire-starting cat contained 90% oxygen, rather than the 10% oxygen-mix given to humans.

    The masks are made in three sizes, to fit on everything from a large dog to a snake's mouth.

    Telford Tigers have signed Great Britain international defenceman Sam Oakford.

    Tigers head coach Tom Watkins said the move from Elite League play-off champions Nottingham Panthers came completely out of the blue, after he got a message from the player, asking if there was interest in a deal.

    The 26-year-old is training to be a teacher and he got in touch because he doesn't have enough time to fit in the training required to play in the Elite League.

    They know each other because Watkins coaches for the Great Britain side.
