  1. Football: Shrewsbury chief exec says luring Championship managers is difficultpublished at 10:56 British Summer Time 14 October 2016

    BBC Sport

The Shrewsbury Town chief exec, Brian Caldwell, says it's been difficult to attract managers with experience of leading Championship clubs, because they want to stay at that level.

Ex-Bristol City and Forest boss Steve Cotterill has ruled himself out of the running, but others like Kenny Jackett and Nigel Pearson, until recently at Wolves and Derby, have been rumoured to be on the club's wish-list.

Caldwell says he has cut down his list of candidates down to 10 now and is planning to whittle that down further and interview a handful.

Some of the names that have been mooted are not interested in the position. They'd rather try to stay in the Championship if they possibly can."
