    There are no major accidents to report on the county's roads this morning, but roadworks in one or two areas could slow your journey. 

    Traffic is slow on the A41 southbound in Tern Hill at the junction with the A53 junction in the roadworks.

    Despite all the rain, The New Saints match at Connah's Quay goes ahead tonight, following a pitch inspection.

    It's the second attempt at playing the match, after it was called off because of fog last week.

    Two Shropshire bus companies linked to the former bosses of GHA Coaches are to face an inquiry hearing in Birmingham next month. 

    Gareth and Arwyn Lloyd Davies were disqualified from holding operator licences due to safety issues at GHA.

    Now the Traffic Commissioner for the Midlands will investigate the extent of their involvement in RJs of Wem and RML 2418 Ltd - both based in Shropshire. 

    GHA ceased trading, with the loss of 320 jobs, in July.

    The Environment Agency has still got four Flood Alerts, external warning of high river-levels in parts of Shropshire, but the waters are again falling now.

    The alerts cover the rivers Severn, Teme, Tern, Perry and Vyrnwy.

    Phone engineers have been trying to fix a problem that's seen around 20 people in Shrewsbury have their numbers mixed up.

    It follows work done by Openreach on behalf BT in Buttington Road over the weekend.

    Openreach, which maintains the local network has apologised for the inconvenience caused.

  10. Eight new bungalows for over 70s in Preespublished at 17:10 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2016

    Eight new bungalows are being built in Prees for local people aged 75-and-over to rent.

    The Grocott Family Charitable Trust is spending £800,000 on the development, which is next to the new Grocott Medical Centre.

    The bungalows will go to people who ether live in Prees, or who have previously lived in, worked in or supported the local community for a period of no less than five years.

    And the development is being named Rose Court after the wife of the Grocontinental chairman, Ray Grocott.

    The Cosford Air Show has written to 40 countries, inviting them to send aircraft to next summer's show.

    They include a number of smaller nations like Malta and Cyprus along with big ones like the USA and France.

    The show takes place on 11 June and the organisers say they've already started talks about bringing the Polish air force over.

    Cows have been re-introduced to a wildlife site in Shropshire to help control the growth of trees there.

    The council says cows always used to live on Brown Moss, near Whitchurch and would feed on the trees and trample them into the ground.

    But in their absence, trees have been taking over, resulting in the loss of some rare plant species from the site.

    The authority is going to keep an eye on them, to make sure they don't do damage to paths and it says Hereford cows have been chosen with the interests of walkers and families, because they are a docile breed.

    The police say a woman in her 70s has died after being hit by a VW van at the Wrekin Retail Park this morning.

    The collision happened at 10:35 and the woman was confirmed dead at the scene.

    The driver of the van was not physically injured, but was treated for shock by ambulance staff and the police have started an investigation.
