Image source, GrannyAnneScientists at Harper Adams University in Shropshire say the new £5 notes are much cleaner because fewer bacteria stick to them.

The study suggests the new plastic notes are at least three times cleaner than the old ones.

Protesters fear midwife-led services at the town's Community Hospital could close or be scaled down under reorganisation plans, forcing pregnant women to travel to other sites.
The trust running the hospital said it would continue to provide "midwifery-led care in all care settings".
