Last night's vote to put Shropshire's hospital reorganisation on hold was made on geographical lines.

    PRH A&E

The proposals, drawn up by the NHS Future Fit review body, suggest having just one centre for emergency medicine in the county, in Shrewsbury.

They have been unpopular with some people in Telford, who don't want the town's A&E department downgraded.

Tonight's match is an FA Cup replay, so won't help Shrewsbury's league position, but he said that winning needs to become a habit.

  10. MP wants Shropshire knife angel in Trafalgar Squarepublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

The fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square has been used to feature the work of a number of artists.

    Quote Message

The Knife Angel Statue is the only memorial ever created with the Home Office and so many police forces working together. It deserves to be on the Fourth Plinth. The statue was created to raise awareness of knife crime and there can be no better place for it than one of the most prominent spots in our capital city."

  16. Hospitals reorganisation back in hands of review teampublished at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

Following the decision by health commissioners not to move forward with plans to reorganise Shropshire's hospitals, the matter has been put back in the hands of the Future Fit, external review team which made the original recommendations.

The Shropshire and Telford Clinical Commissioning Groups said they wanted to wait for "more work" to be carried out and for an independent review of the process which led to the recommendations.

    NHS sign

The head of the Future Fit review promised last week that an independent review "will be held within the current timetable".

But, "more work" will probably mean a shift in the timetable and that public consultation won't start early in the new year.
