Both the A44 at Leominster and the rail line between Hereford and Shrewsbury are likely to be closed for the rest of the day after a lorry collided with a house at a level crossing.
The fire service and specialist contractors are trying to move the HGV, carrying 28 tonnes of grain, from the house next to the Mill Street level crossing.

The owners of the former Ironbridge power station say they have had "positive discussions" with Shropshire Council over the sale of the 141-hectare site.
Uniper said it was time for a "different future" for the land at Buildwas and revealed it has been talking to the authority for "some time" about its intention to sell it.

Shropshire Council leader Malcolm Pate said he wanted to get "the maximum benefit from the redevelopment of the sire to support the county's economic growth".
The volunteer-run Telford Steam Railway says it was shocked to discover the amount of rubbish that appears to have been fly tipped by the tracks.
Chairman Paul Hughes found it on a routine inspection and described it as a "commercial fly-tipping operation".

It says the land is owned by Network Rail, so it won't have to pay for the clean-up.
Quote MessageWe're all used to seeing somebody who has dropped a sofa off that they didn't want, or an old bed-spread or something like that. This is on a completely different scale. This is a huge commercial, sort of, tipping operation."

The former power station at Buildwas is being put up for sale.
Its owners, Uniper, said it had considered a number of options, but after concluding it wasn't suitable as a site for power generation any more, it decided to look for a new owner to "realise its potential".

The power station ceased production in 2015 and plans to demolish the old cooling towers are already being drawn up.
Quote MessageThe power station here performed a sterling role in generating electricity for almost half a century but it's time now for the site to look to a different future."

Lee Hughes was at Telford's training ground last night after joining the Bucks from fellow non-leaguers Worcester City.
The striker had expressed interest in succeeding Carl Heeley as manager of the National League North club, but said the club's decision to stick with interim manager John Snape was not what prompted his move.

Shrewsbury Town's Paul Hurst has just missed out on the Manager of the Month award for January.
He's been pipped by Uwe Rossler at Fleetwood, the only side to beat Town last month.

Hurst says the side's turnaround and the players winning matches is more important than any award.
Quote MessageIt was nice to be nominated, but that's on the back of what the players do realistically. That's what it's always about. Said at the time, when I heard I was nominated that I didn't feel I would get it and that proved to be the case. No I think I'll get over that.

Market Drayton is finally welcoming its original gingerbread recipe back home.
Billingtons luxury gingerbread was made in the town from about 1817 from a secret recipe, but the latest baker to own the recipe moved to Yorkshire in 2004.

Now the recipe is being returned to its rightful home and Market Drayton company Image on Food will be baking Billington's Gingerbread under licence.
Quote MessageIt was supposed to be eaten with port. You can dunk the gingerbread in the port and it's also very good in a hot drink, because it doesn't dissolve.
