    AFC Telford United came away from Leamington with a convinving 3-0 victory.

    Anthony Dwyer scored two goals in quick succession before Jordan Lussey gave Telford their third on 73 minutes.

    The win gives the Bucks their third win out of four away games.

    Telford's Kelly Edwards is in action at the World Judo Championships this morning.

    The 26-year-old, who represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics, is in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

    She says she's been preparing hard for the event and hopes it's her time to shine.

    Residents in Tasley, near Bridgnorth, are staging a protest this morning.

    They're angry about plans to build a big chicken farm near their homes at Wenlock Rise.

    The scheme goes before Shropshire Council planners this afternoon and is being recommended for approval.

    Developers say the farm and it's 210,000 birds won't impact on the environment.

    A police dog who was stabbed on Monday is recovering well from his injuries.

    German Shepherd Canto accompanied officers to a house in Bridgnorth following concerns a man may try to harm himself.

    The man stabbed the five-year-old dog, who has since had surgery for his injuries.

    Police tweeted Canto is a "true hero" and hopefully he'll be fit enough to return to work in mid-September.

    Rescue equipment was stolen from Newport Fire Station on Thursday night after the station was broken into.

    It was taken from an engine inside the station.

    The fire service says cover hasn't been affected by the theft, but it is encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

    An man has been arrested after reports that a teenage girl was raped in Telford Town Park, police say.

    West Mercia Police say an investigation is ongoing and the girl is being supported by specially trained officers.

    An 18-year-old from Telford has been arrested arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody, a spokeswoman said.

  18. MP's drive to stop cyclists on pavementspublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 25 August 2017

    A Shrewsbury MP says more needs to be done to stop cyclists riding on pavements.

    The warning from Daniel Kawczynski comes after a woman was knocked down and killed by a cyclist as she crossed the road in London last year.

    Earlier this week Charlie Alliston was cleared of the manslaughter of Kim Briggs but found guilty of causing bodily harm by "wanton or furious driving". He'll be sentenced next month.

    The Conservative politician has spoken to Shropshire Council about getting more dedicated cycle lanes and he's calling on West Mercia Police to prosecute more people riding bikes on pavements.
