  2. Settle-Carlisle line: Tornado powers 12 scheduled servicespublished at 07:49 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2017

    Timetabled services on a world-famous railway line in North Yorkshire are to be powered by steam for the first time in decades.

    Tornado, the newest steam locomotive in Britain, will pull 12 Northern services on the Settle-Carlisle line over three consecutive days.

    It is part of celebrations to mark the upcoming re-opening of the line after landslides closed a long stretch.

    The line takes in the Yorkshire Dales and passes over the Ribblehead viaduct before entering Cumbria's Eden Valley.

    Problems continue on the A64 in North Yorkshire.

    The main road remains closed near York, with traffic being routed around the junction and back on again, and slow traffic on the A64 York Bypass eastbound in York at Fulford Interchange, because of over-running roadworks.

    A diversion is nn operation down to the roundabout and then back up onto the main A64.

  4. Listen: Sheffield hospital patients wait over a year for treatmentpublished at 07:28 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2017

    Ten patients at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals were left waiting for more than a year for treatment, BBC Radio Sheffield has learned.

    It was after a computer error led to their appointment letters not being sent out.

    The trust which runs the hospitals says the issue has been rectified and that none of the patients were waiting for emergency or cancer care.

    An investigation into how this happened is now under way, the trust adds.

    • A teenage boy has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Leeds
    • Ten patients at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals were left waiting for more than a year for treatment, after a computer error led to their appointment letters not being sent out
    • People living in a small coastal community near Filey will learn today if they can continue to live where they are, with the only road into their hamlet threatened with erosion

    A teenage boy has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy, who was stabbed to death in Leeds.

    Irfan Wahid (pictured) was found with a single stab wound to the chest in a street in the Harehills area of the city on Friday afternoon. He was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards. 

    Last night detectives charged a 16-year-old boy with murder and possession of a bladed article.

    He's due to appear before Leeds Youth Court later today.

    Things are running well on Yorkshire's roads for the most part.

    However, there are currently problems on the A64 near York.

    The main road is closed, with traffic being routed around the junction and back on again, on the A64 York Bypass eastbound in York at Fulford Interchange.

    Thjs is due to over-running roadworks. 

    A diversion's in operation - down to the roundabout and then back up onto the main A64.
