The Cheshire MP Antoinette Sandbach was among seven Conservative MPs to rebel against the government in a failed attempt to add conditions to its Brexit bill.
MPs rejected a bid by Labour's Chris Leslie to force the government to consult Parliament on the deal struck with the EU before it is finalised.
It came after ministers pledged that a "meaningful" vote would be offered.
Labour and some Tories had pushed for MPs to have a decisive say on the final terms, but the 326 to 293 vote meant the bill remained unchanged.
Ms Sandbach tweeted afterwards that she voted, external "with my conscience and to represent the interests of all my constituents".

A report into the safety of children's A&E at Stafford's County Hospital is to be made public next month.
Full emergency care for under 16s was suspended last August following staff shortages - and a review commissioned to suggest improvements.
The Government is making clear it won't intervene in Birmingham City Council's plans to build 6,000 homes on greenbelt land in Sutton Coldfield.
The promise has been made in a Housing White Paper published today.
The Conservative MP for Sutton Coldfield, Andrew Mitchell, told the Commons that the Government should step in.

Health bosses say they are delaying a 12-week public consultation on the future of north Staffordshire's community hospitals until the second week of May.
They say they don't want the consultation to have any sway on this month's Stoke Central by-election, which will be followed by county council elections on 4 May.
Adult rehab wards at the hospitals have been closed to new admissions since last year.
Digger-giant JCB is set to create 350 jobs over the next five years as part of a £41 million investment, external programme.

A farmer from the Staffordshire Moorlands says the recent bird-flu outbreak has meant his free-range birds have had to be housed for the last few months.

DEFRA says it hopes the restrictions will be lifted by the end of this month, external but with more cases the couple is worried that their free-range eggs will have to be downgraded to barn eggs.

They say more details will be released in due course.
The club is 12th in the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier.
