    A man from Staffordshire has been banned from keeping animals for 20 years after stabbing a dog. 

    Peter Waters, from Gnosall, has also been jailed for 23 weeks for causing "unnecessary suffering" to the Staffordshire bull terrier named Kyzer. 

    The 41-year-old was sentenced by magistrates in Cannock yesterday.

    A man has had to be cut from his lorry after two HGVs crashed in Crewe. 

    Emergency services were called to the A5020 at the junction with Main Road just after 08:00.

    The driver has been taken to Leighton Hospital with minor injuries.

    Two dogs, three cats and 12 rabbits have been killed in the explosion at a house in Talke, according to the home owner, Alan Rhodes. 

    He also told me he keeps 50 rabbits at the property.

    A walker has been airlifted to hospital from the Staffordshire Moorlands after dislocating both shoulders and breaking an arm.

    Paramedics believe the women, who is in her 60s, had fallen onto her outstretched arms, while walking on a muddy track near Hulme End.
