    I've been to the scene of where this crane has collapsed in Crewe and it's on a new build site next to Bombardier Transport, off a roundabout on Dunwoody Way.

    There is a cordon around the area and there are several fire engines and ambulances at the scene.

    There are lots of residents watching on from the cordon, kids on bikes, parents, all wondering what is going on.

    We've just had an update from Cheshire Police about the crane collapse in Crewe. , external

    They've confirmed that three people were trapped underneath and that one has been airlifted to hospital with unconfirmed injuries.

    The force has yet to confirm if the other two have been released but says emergency services are working at the scene.

    The road where a crane's collapsed in Crewe is a main route in the centre of the town through a built-up, industrial area.

    At one end, Dunwoody Way has Phoenix Leisure Park, routes off to housing estates and a Morrisons.

    It then continues past the Bombardier Transportation factory before heading west out of the town.

    A coroner's court has heard how a man from Wednesfield shot himself in the head after being investigated by the police.

    Matthew Kendall, 39, was on police bail following allegations of grooming, when he killed himself in a car park last October.

    An investigation was launched by the Independent Police Complaints Commission but found none of the police forces involved contributed to his death.

    A picnic area and a nature reserve in Staffordshire are going to be under new management from later this year. , external

    The county council's been consulting for several months over the future of its parks and, while keeping ownership, wanted other groups to take on the day-to-day running of the sites.

    In total, the authority's estate includes six country parks, nine picnic sites and three greenways.

    Today it says the Wimblebury Mound picnic area (pictured) near Cannock will be taken on by Heath Hayes and Wimblebury Parish Council.

    While Consall Nature Park will be managed and maintained by an as yet unnamed other group.

    Cheshire Police says the first was 20:45 when rubbish bags were set on fire outside St Mary's Church on Church Lane.

    Then, around half-an-hour later, the force says the former Methodist Church on nearby Hospital Street was deliberately set alight with firefighters working through the night to make sure the blaze was out.

    Detectives say four people were seen running away from the second building.
