A fault with a swingbridge has led to trains being cancelled between Norwich and Lowestoft. 

The problem bridge at Somerleyton has led to delays for Abellio Greater Anglia, external passengers. 

The company say delays and cancellations could continue until 17:30 and a replacement bus service is operating between Norwich and Lowestoft via Oulton Broad North.

Cambridge United has announced plans to host a fundraising day in aid of local footballers Shaun Whiter and Joey Abbs, who were both injured in a crash in Newmarket.

Newmarket Town's Shaun Whiter (below) lost his legs in the incident earlier this month, while Soham Town Rangers' Joey Abbs sustained "serious" leg injuries.

The club has invited Newmarket Town, Cambridge City, Soham Town Rangers and Fulbourn Institute to take part in a tournament on 9 October.

"We want to provide some practical help," Cambridge United's chief executive Jez George told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, external.

Some famous faces will be part of the Ipswich Town all-star team in a charity football match in aid of two footballers seriously injured in a road collision in Newmarket.

The side will be managed by former England captain Terry Butcher and captained by Kieron Dyer, it has been revealed today.

Joey Abbs, a Soham Town Rangers player sustained "serious" leg injuries, while Newmarket Town's Shaun Whiter lost his legs in the incident earlier this month.

The match against Newmarket Town takes place this Sunday at 15:00, external.

Rail services on the line between Norwich and Liverpool Street, external face disruption due to emergency services dealing with an incident between Ipswich and Stowmarket.

All lines are blocked and disruption is expected until 21:00.

Thirteen men are to face charges in connection with an attack that left a football fan with brain damage.

The investigation into the attack on Simon Dobbin had been "thorough and complex", Essex Police says.

Details have been released of the men who are to face charges linked to the attack on football fan Simon Dobbin following a nil-nil draw between Southend United and Cambridge United in March last year.

Mr Dobbin, 41, from Suffolk, suffered a serious head injury during the fracas between fans outside the Railway Pub in East Street, Southend.

Eleven men have been summonsed to face charges of affray. They are:

• Alexander Woods, 24, of Fairmead Avenue, Westcliff
• Philip McGill, 31, an electrician, of Hornby Avenue, Westcliff
• Greg Allen, 28, a painter, of Wellington Avenue, Westcliff
• Rhys Pullen, 20, a telecommunications engineer of Bridge Road, Wickford 
• James Woods, 24, a chef, of Fairmead Avenue, Westcliff 
• Scott Nicholls, 40, a construction worker, of Sherwood Close, Langdon Hill

Ryan Carter, 20, who is unemployed, from York Road in Southend, has already been charged with affray after answering bail on Friday.

Ian Young, 40, an electrician, of Brightwell Avenue, Westcliff, has been summonsed to face charges of assisting an offender and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas or an electrical incapacitation device

All of the men are to due to appear at Southend Magistrates' Court on 2 September.
