1. Iguana: Here's a closer look at the Pakefield iguanapublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

    We've been covering the story of an iguana that's been roaming around Pakefield, near Lowestoft.

    Colin Cooper, from Pakefield, says he took this picture of the creature from his front garden as it sat on a tree.

    Rumours that the iguana has been on the loose have circulated for a few weeks now, but now it has set up home nearly 40ft (12m) up a tree on waste ground in All Saints' Road.

    And this picture was taken by Rani Coleman a couple of weeks ago, when she saw it on the ground in Pakefield.

    The iguana currently stuck up a tree in Pakefield does not appear injured, but those trying to help it do need advice on how to help it, said local resident Angela Hills.

    She said: "The animal doesn't appear injured but obviously we need specialist advice on how to get it down. 

    "He's just been looking around and taking in the view."

    She said one or two people had thrown fruit to try to tempt the iguana down from the 30-foot tree, but she had concerns for the animal's safety as it was close to a busy road.

    Nobody knows how long the iguana has been stuck up a tree in Pakefield, says local resident Angela Hills. 

    Ms Hills said: "All the neighbours were sitting looking up a very large tree, and up at the top of it was a four or five foot iguana.

    "Nobody knows how long it has been up there. There's been rumours that an escaped one had been up and down the street for the last couple of weeks, and we didn't really believe it."

    We've had reports that a iguana measuring about 5ft long has been found stuck up a tree in Pakefield.

    We're told it looks like a bit like the one in the photo below.

    Rather than accept defeat, Jo Rothery, from Earl Soham, decided to wage war on the unwelcome visitors, after picking up more than 500 in one night which destroyed her patch of leeks.

    The case of a Suffolk teenager diagnosed with motor neurone disease is "extraordinarily rare", the Motor Neurone Disease Association said.

    BBC Radio Suffolk reports there are only 12 other people in the world with the particular condition that Sudborne's Scott Hawsksworth suffers from.

    The 17-year-old has gone from being an active teenager to someone who can barely move in the space of a few short months.

    Karen Pearce, director of care at the Motor Neurone Disease Association, said: "To see somebody with what we would say is juvenile MND is extraordinarily rare, so Scott has a rare gene, and it's rare because he is so young when he's been diagnosed."

    Two men who were caught sneaking into the Latitude Festival without paying have each been fined £100.

    Bradley Tanner, 28, of Sylvester Road, in Leiston, and Billy Hunt, 18, of Neslings Close, in Wickham Market, both admitted to "obtaining services dishonestly" at Ipswich Magistrates' Court.

    They also have to pay a further £320 each in court costs and other charges.

    Hunt admitted stealing a mobile phone at the festival and was given a 12-month conditional discharge for that offence.

    The father of a teenager diagnosed with a rare form of motor neurone disease says he has no option but to remain positive and face the future. 

    Just under a year ago, Scott Hawksworth was a strong and healthy 17-year-old, but in less than a year he went from being an active college student to someone who struggled to walk.

    "Scott is so upbeat and positive about it," said his father Eric Hawksworth.

    Scott now needs full time care and support, and his family have launched a crowd funding appeal to help pay for a hydrotherapy pool for him at his home in Sudbourne near Orford.

    Ipswich Town are understood to be trying to sign a further two new players ahead of tonight's 23:00 transfer deadline.

    Mick McCarthy has already agreed deals with Leicester's attacking midfielder Tom Lawrence and former Newcastle and Coventry striker Leon Best.

    Lawrence, 22, told the club website: "I think there were a few clubs interested but Ipswich are a club that always seem to be up at the top end of the Championship. I want to be at a club that has ambition and wants to push for promotion and hopefully we can do that here."

    Best said: "This is a proper football club. I could tell that as soon as I walked through the door. You can tell that everyone knows what they are doing, everyone knows what is expected of them. There is a real togetherness here."

    Less than 1% of people put themselves forward to comment in a consultation on devolution, external for Norfolk and Suffolk. 

    Out of a population of 1.5m in the two counties, just 8,000 took part.  A devolution deal would mean Norfolk and Suffolk sharing a mayor, with powers over roads and housing projects.

    The public consultation on the plan ended last week.

    The company has issued a statement saying: "All of us at Haven are deeply saddened at the news of Dan’s accident. 

    "Dan worked at Haven between 2011 and 2015 and had many friends here.
