After losing for the first time as a professional, it was announced that the Lowestoft boxer entered the ring with a broken eye socket.

"I'm guessing the team behind him had no knowledge of this injury, which again, means the responsibility falls onto the shoulders of Anthony if he didn't keep them informed of his medical condition," Hearn said.

"That is a sadness for me and something that is a very silly mistake by a boxer. I understand the frustration as Anthony has had a lot of injuries in his career, but your health and safety comes first."

Andy King, chair of Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, said: "Potentially we can go indefinitely. The difficulty becomes that it's already what we would classify a 'rest of the world' situation.

"We've searched all of the areas that we would have expected him to have gone home on. He hasn't gone that way, therefore he could be anywhere."

The 14-year-old girl whose pony slipped into a bog at Rendlesham Forest was unhurt in the incident, and was quickly able to get off the animal.

Her mother, Amy, said she was surprised how calm the situation was after her daughter and the pony fell at the Finn Valley Riding Club event on Sunday.

"She didn't actually fall off, to be fair, she was still on it when she went in," Amy said. "Luckily Lisa, who was accompanying them, took control of the situation in a splash and literally pulled her straight out.

"The pony just stood stock still and didn't move, which made the situation a lot easier as well."

It took 15 minutes to free the pony stuck in the bog at Rendlesham Forest, but fortunately the animal had been kept calm while awaiting its rescue.

James Smith, chairman of the Finn Valley Riding Club, said: "I was quite shocked when I got there.

"Luckily the lady that was with the two girls was very calm and had managed to keep the horse pretty calm.

"When I got there it was eating grass at the side of the bog, so it was pretty relaxed. I was more fearful it might be exhausted from thrashing around, but in fact it wasn't."

The young rider was taking part in an organised event with the Finn Valley Riding club on Sunday morning when the pony plunged into the bog.

Although the horse was distressed, the riding group was able to free the animal after about 15 minutes.

The course had been checked over by the riding club that morning and found to be problem free, but concerns have been raised that as the bog was well hidden, other animals or children could become stuck.

The riding group says the Forestry Commission, which owns Rendlesham Forest, has always been very supportive of its activities but it would like to see warning signs erected on the path.
