The injury has led to the singer postponing his Asia tour.

Police investigating break-ins at Portman Road are looking for two men.

Computer equipment and a quantity of food and drink were taken in the first of two raids, which police say happened between 19:45 on Saturday, 7 October and 06:20 on Sunday 8 October.

It's believed to be linked to a second break-in on Tuesday, 10 October, when two TV screens and alcohol were taken sometime after 21:10.

During the first raid, the intruders partied on wine and food, and fought with frozen cheesecakes, the BBC understands.

Detectives say they want to speak to two men seen in the Portman Road car park in the early hours of the Sunday morning.

They are both white, with one wearing Adidas clothing with a rucksack and the other a blue jacket and hoodie.

A club spokesman said they had since increased the stadium's security.

  8. Town skipper not concerned by form ahead of derbypublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 18 October 2017

    Graeme Mac
    BBC Radio Suffolk sport

Ipswich Town captain Luke Chambers believes a win over Norwich City this weekend could reignite the Blues' season, but he was also quick to point out today that form means little going into a derby day fixture.

    Luke Chambers

Mick McCarthy's side have lost six of their last eight matches in all competitions, while the Canaries are unbeaten since the end of August, and have recently moved above Town in the Championship.

"We had a great start that has tailed off a little bit, but we still find ourselves in a decent position in the table," Chambers said.

"Two wins in a row in this division is massive and that is what we've got to look to do next week.

"Things are so up and down in the Championship like we saw last Friday, when Birmingham, who've been struggling, beat Cardiff who are top."

"And for games like this, form, money, everything, goes out the window."

  9. Council seek compulsory order to close level crossingpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 18 October 2017

The closure plans have been advanced after a woman was killed at the crossing in 2011.

There have been objections from local landowners and, after failing to come to an agreement, Suffolk County Council is requesting to use compulsory orders.

Network Rail has agreed to meet all the expenses of the authority over the application.

When we say necklace, we actually mean one of her family heirlooms - a pendant crafted from gold, emerald and diamonds. Lady Somerleyton noticed it was missing after visiting the Pakefield, Suffolk branch of the supermarket.

Lord and Lady Somerleyton's family home Somerleyton Hall, near Lowestoft lies within a 5,000-acre estate and they have offered a reward for the pendent's safe return.

Minnie Garrad, who works for Tesco in Martlesham Heath, became suspicious after the shopper asked for £900 of iTunes vouchers.

The woman told her she needed them to pay for repairs to her computer.

"We've had this incident before where elderly, vulnerable people have been sent in to pick up large high value gift cards," Ms Garrad said. "It''s awful really."

The victim, who is not being named, was cold-called by scammers and told she had to read out the numbers on these cards to pay for repairs carried out remotely to her computer.

The shop-assistant rang the police and together they managed to convince the lady it was a scam.

Sasha Watson, from Suffolk Trading Standards, says the codes are used to transfer the credit into fraudsters' accounts.

"We all have that moral duty to make sure everyone in our community is safe," she said.

Former Ipswich, external striker Alex Mathie believes Freddie Sears should be in the Town team for Sunday's East Anglian derby at Portman Road.

The 27-year-old hasn't scored this season and has been playing second fiddle to David McGoldrick, Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn recently.

Mathie - who scored a hat-trick against Norwich City in 1998 - thinks Sears has been unlucky in his time at Portman Road.

"I don't think his lack of goals will be affecting him because he gives everything he's got and does a job for the team," Mathie told BBC Suffolk Sport.

"He's a striker and they want to score goals but it's not very often he plays as a striker, he never has a run of games up-front, but he'll be able to come in and create things with Waghorn and McGoldrick."

Ed posted the below pic of his new black cast alongside a message telling fans that broken bones in his right wrist and left elbow - ouch! - mean that scheduled gigs in Taipei (on Sunday), Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong have all now been postponed.

Writing on Instagram (via a ghost writer), Ed said:

"Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that."

He added: "Please stay tuned for more details. PS - Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged."

Good well soon Ed. We can't help but think this accident was karma for falsely singing about a fictional leg break on his best-selling last album.

Every hospital looking after patients from Suffolk failed to meet waiting time targets in A&E last month.

Targets for cancer care were met by every hospital, but West Suffolk and the James Paget didn't meet standards for planned operations.
