    ... and it's Beautiful South stars Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, external, with their guest Billy Bragg.

    The concert on Saturday, 9 June, is part of the Forestry Commission's Forest Live, external season. Tickets go on sale this Friday,

    They are the second artists to be announced - Gary Barlow will be appearing on the previous night.

    Ipswich Town defender Tommy Smith has stepped up his comeback from injury ahead of this weekend's East Anglian derby.

    The defender played the first 45 minutes for the Under 23s, as they lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace at Playford Road yesterday afternoon.

    A late penalty won the match for the Eagles. The Under 23s are in action again later in the week when they visit QPR on Friday.

    Smith was an unused substitute for Ipswich's first team at Sheffield United last weekend, and is likely to be named on the bench again for Sunday's fixture with Norwich City at Portman Road.

    Earlier this year the band, from the Suffolk/Essex border, played at the South by Southwest Festival for BBC Introducing and are currently recording their eagerly awaited second EP.

    Who knows if Ophelia will be on it.

    An appeal by developers to build 300 new homes at Kesgrave near Ipswich has been dismissed by the Government.

    The Planning Inspectorate has said the controversial plans for land off Bell Lane were unsustainable.

    The homes were rejected by Suffolk Coastal District Council more than a year ago, but Persimmon Homes and BPT Limited appealed against the decision, which led to a public inquiry in August.

    The winds are expected to increase for a time this evening and overnight to a fresh to strong south-westerly, with gusts between 30-35mph.

    Later in the night the winds should ease and it should be dry everywhere with clear spells.

    It’ll feel fresher than recent nights with a low of 9C (48F).

    Much of Tuesday should be fine and dry although cloud is eventually expected to thicken bringing rain to some southern parts by the end of the day.

    The winds will become light and variable and temperatures will reach around 17C (63F).

    The chief executive of the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich says they are "absolutely delighted" to have received two UK Theatre Awards.

    A musical of The Who’s Tommy was awarded Best Touring Production.

    It was directed by Kerry Michael and was a New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich and Ramps on the Moon co-production, and the two organisations also received the award for Promotion of Diversity for their ground-breaking work in the inclusion and integration of D/deaf, external and disabled individuals.

    Sarah Holmes (pictured right alongside Kerry Michael, Donna Mullings and William Grint) said they are a "huge recognition" of the collaboration taking place between mainstream mid-scale theatres, and that winning the Best Touring Production award was "just phenomenal".

    "This work would not have been possible without the pioneering collaboration of the strategic partners that have created the Ramps on the Moon, external consortium and the funding and support we have received from Arts Council England and the Esmée FairburnFoundation, external," she said.

    Authors and broadcasters Paul Heiney and Libby Purves visited Geldeston Lock on the River Waveney over the weekend to mark the official opening of the Susan Ellis Wood, and to celebrate the completion of the first phase of the historic lock chamber restoration.

    The lock, built around 1670 and one of only two locks on the Broads, is in danger of collapse.

    Local volunteers have already raised more than £7,000 towards a target of £15,000.

    Ipswich Town defender, Tommy Smith, played the first 45 minutes for the U23s this lunchtime as he continued his comeback from a hamstring injury.

    The game at Playford Road against Crystal Palace ended in a 0-1 defeat for Town, the goal coming in the 88th minute from the penalty spot.

    Ben Morris and Luke Woolfenden, who've both played for the first team in recent months, also featured for Gerard Nash’s team.

    We've heard of a red sky at night and a red sky in the morning... but what about a red sun in the sky, during daytime?

    This unusual occurence, as captured by our BBC Weather Watchers, has been caused by Storm Ophelia which is pulling air and dust up from southern Europe and Africa.
