Motorists are being warned of road closures as a 255ft-long (78m) load is moved between Shoreham and Ninfield on Sunday.

The electricity transformer, which is 15ft (4.6m) wide and weighs 331 tonnes, is due to leave Shoreham Port at 05:30 GMT and arrive in Potmans Lane, Ninfield, at about 14:00.

Suffragettes: Emily Davison's death at Epsom Derby

BBC Radio Oxford has marked International Women's Day by handing over the reigns of its breakfast show to Philippa Bilton.

She is a descendent of suffragette Emily Wilding Davison, who died in June 1913 when she ran out in front of the king's horse during the Epsom Derby.

Some call her death a deliberate suicide, which succeeded in drawing global attention to the cause of votes for women. Others say she was trying to disrupt the race, but not to die.

Ms Bilton says gender inequality has come back into the spotlight in the past five years: "These women's issues and the hashtag #MeToo are now mainstream...it's not going to go away"

A watch owned by Kenneth Williams and used by the actor to wake himself up for every early film call, has been sold at auction.

The 1960s Swiza clock was sold alongside letters from the Carry On star at an auction at Farleigh Golf Club in Surrey on Wednesday.

It was sold for £1,100, after being expected to fetch between £60 and £100.

The clock came with a letter from Williams which said: "This dear old clock has unfailingly wakened me since 1960 for every early film call I've had."

A spokeswoman for the auctioneers, Catherine Southon, said: "There was a huge amount of interest online, but finally went to a private collector bidding on the phone from Gibraltar."
