There seem to be fewer cars on the region's roads this morning and we are not seeing queues like yesterday.
However, some roads like the A692 are still seeing problems with ice.
The amber weather warning which started yesterday morning remains in place until 18:00 today.
As with yesterday, there are expected to be frequent and heavy snow showers which will lead to some significant accumulations.
The Met Office says there will be long travel delays and cancellations and roads may become blocked with deep snow which will leave to vehicles being stranded.

It's day three of the big freeze and there's no sign of conditions relenting.
Once again the thermometer is unlikely to head into positive territory and with severe weather forecast for Scotland, Virgin East Trains have already advised travellers to avoid heading over the Border if they can.
They say because of the conditions services may be delayed, or even cancelled at short notice, anyone with bookings for today will be able to travel on earlier or later trains. Tickets will still be valid tomorrow.
