  1. Witnesses sought after fatal Selby A19 crashpublished at 07:49 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2016

    Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the A19 in Selby on Friday.

    A Citroen C1, VW Jetta, a Ford Ranger pick-up truck and a Honda motorbike collided at the A19 junction with Fox Lane at about 18:20.

    The motorcyclist, 24, from Goole, East Yorkshire, died at the scene.

    The driver of the C1, a 25-year-old man from Rotherham, was held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    He's been released on bail to allow further investigations to be carried out.

    However, cloud will quickly thicken this morning, with outbreaks of light rain arriving from early afternoon, along with hill fog.

    It's a good start to the working week as far as travel is concerned.

    The roads are running freely and there are no delays posted on the trains except for the 07:08 service to Newcastle which is running slightly late, as ever.

    And if you were hoping to travel on the 07:27 Reading via Doncaster service, you'll have to make alternative plans as that train has unfortunately been cancelled.
