    David Cameron says the Conservatives believe in equality of opportunity. This may sound obvious but it's not he says, accusing Labour of having "completely abandoned any notion of these ideas". Let's prove those Conservative truths and save Britain from the "danger of Labour", he urges conference, adding that a "Greater Britain" is "our goal". This is met with applause.

    David Cameron says he won't be fighting another general election as Tory leader - as he's pledged to stand down by 2020.

    "I don’t have the luxury of unlimited time," he says, but "I am in just as much of a hurry as five years ago".

    He says, he is the first prime minister to be able to say they are halfway through their premiership, adding that Britain needs a stronger society, as well as a stronger economy, as he sets out his desire to end poverty, inequality and extremism.

    David Cameron says the British people are "decent" and "reasonable" and want a government that supports the vulnerable and helps everyone get on in life. "That is what we must deliver: the party of working people, the party for working people - today, tomorrow and always," he adds.

    "As dawn rose a new light, a bluer light fell across our isles," he says - adding that he'll never forget that morning. He says he sat with his family in Downing Street the morning after, amid packed boxes in case of a defeat, and when he found out Ed Balls and Nigel Farage had "gone", he thought he'd "died and gone to heaven".
