  11. Cameron: I'm going to fight hard in EU renegotiationspublished at 12:02

David Cameron turns his attention to the subject of Europe. He says the EU has got "too big and too bossy". But it's also the biggest single market in the world, he adds - as he restates his case for reforming the way the bloc works.

He praises the UK's role in Europe, saying Britain got the bloc to open trade talks with America and to agree to sanctions on Iran, "which brought that country to the negotiating table".

    Quote Message

Believe me, I have no romantic attachment to the European Union and its institutions. I’m only interested in two things: Britain’s prosperity and Britain’s influence. That’s why I’m going to fight hard in this renegotiation – so we can get a better deal and the best of both worlds."

  15. David Cameron on migrant crisispublished at 11:58

Turning to the refugee and migrant crisis, David Cameron commends the UK's aid programme which he says has been helping Syrian refugees.

But he says the long-term solution to the crisis in the war-torn country is "lies in helping countries like Syria become places where people actually want to live".

"That means having a government that’s not terrorising its people – and that’s why Assad must go," he says.

  20. Cameron: I will always keep Britain safepublished at 1:56

Focusing his remarks on terrorism, David Cameron says some of the loneliest moments in the job comes when he reads intelligence on plots to harm Britain.

He defends the UK drone attack on British nationals Reyaad Khan and Junaid Hussain "who were in Syria planning terrorist attacks on UK soil".

    Quote Message

The choice I faced was this: act – and we could stop them carrying out their plans. Stall – and we could see innocent people murdered on our streets. So I took decisive action to keep Britain safe – and that’s what I will always do."
