"Jeremy's quite rightly not making his view known until the end of the consultation", says John McDonnell. He is talking about whether to offer a free vote - not whether to back air strikes, which Mr Corbyn has already said he is against. He thinks all parties should offer a free vote.

    Pienaar’s Politics

Shadow chancellor John McDonnell says it has long been his belief that votes on going to war should be "free votes" - meaning MPs are not bound to follow the party line. Jeremy Corbyn has just told Andrew Marr he has not yet decided whether to offer Labour MPs a free vote on Syria air strikes. Mr Corbyn is "listening to people", Mr McDonnell says.
