    John Pienaar

On Corbyn's election chances, Ken Loach says there is four years for him to set out what his Labour government could offer.

He says there is too much of an emphasis on looking at personalities in politics, when instead there should be a focus on the "programme" Corbyn offers, which "will benefit the people who need help, who need security, who need homes, who need a health service that isn't run down".

He is asked about opinion polls being negative about Corbyn:

He says he thinks Corbyn is "in tune with the Labour movement".

    John Pienaar
    Pienaar’s Politics

John Pienaar has been talking to Labour leadership hopeful Owen Smith.

On how well known he is, Mr Smith jokes he is "barely a household name in his own household".

He says he has nothing unique to offer as leader but he is "Labour to his finger tips".

He says Labour is "at the moment sidelined" and "was not fighting for what we believe in".

Asked about having one unity candidate to take on Corbyn, Mr Smith says it is not his "prime mission" to beat Mr Corbyn.

But he says he does not think Mr Corbyn is a leader of men or women, and though he has good values he has not been able to articulate them.

Mr Smith says he does not propose to be any less radical than Mr Corbyn.

Mr Smith reiterates that he would serve under Jeremy Corbyn if he wins the contest.
