    The Queen's Baton Relay has finally returned to Scotland - the 70th nation or territory on its epic journey around the Commonwealth. The baton contains a handwritten message from the Queen which will be revealed at the opening ceremony of the Games in Glasgow.

    BBC presenter Mark Beaumont followed the international leg of the journey. Here are his highlights.

    For the next 40 days, the baton will be carried by 4,000 people as it travels around Scotland. Some of the first baton bearers were Samantha Kinghorn, David Laing and James Alder in Coldstream.
