Three-time British Cadet Judo champion Abbi Blackie ran with the baton in Melrose.
Abbi represented Great Britain at the Youth Olympic Games last year, finishing seventh.
The relay travelled from Duns to Hawick via Melrose, Kelso and Jedburgh
Rugby was a strong theme during the baton's journey in the Borders

The baton has arrived in Melrose and paused for a quick game at the rugby ground.
The Borders town is known worldwide as the birthplace of Rugby Sevens.
New Zealand have dominated Commonwealth Games Rugby Sevens, claiming four gold medals to date. During the international section on the relay we met the Barbados team who will face the defending champions in their Commonwealth debut next month in Glasgow.
Ian Bromely emailed us to tell us about his son Jamie, a volunteer at Riding for the Disabled who took part in the relay in Duns this morning.
Ian wrote: "He was nominated because of his participation at Berwickshire group Riding for the Disabled where he does equestrian vaulting.
"He has been a RDA national champion with his team at Hartpury College, he has competed in Scottish equestrian vaulting competitions with able bodied vaulters and he is a winner of many rosettes."

Teenage swimming coach Annabelle Ireland was one of the first people to run with the baton in Melrose. She was nominated for her dedication to swimming and has been coaching since she was 11 years old.
There have been some enthusiastic tweets, external from people following the baton in the Borders today.
Andrew Priestley wrote: "There are few nicer places in the whole UK than Scottish borders country. It's great to see the baton come to the borders. #bbcbatonrelay."
Gillian Swan tweeted: "#bbcbatonrelay Wow just got home after following baton and camera guys around Earlston High school and along East End. Go Earlston!"

It looks like Hawick is getting excited already. Heart of Hawick, external tweeted, external this: "6 hours to go until the #BatonRelay reaches Hawick! @Batonrelay2014 @Glasgow2014."

The convoy and crowds follow Earlston's final baton bearer Claire McCulloch as we round off great start to the morning in the Borders.
All of Scotland's 32 local authorities have been linked with a Commonwealth nation or territory as Sportscotland, external is encouraging everyone to get behind a second nation during the Games.
Scottish Borders have been linked with Tonga and England at Glasgow 2014.
The crowd are getting involved as they run alongside the final baton bearers in Earlston. Alexis Green and Claire McCulloch among the last group of people to carry the baton the in town.

The Queen's baton will hit the mountain bike trails at Glentress, external later this afternoon, and it is a double celebration for the site as it also announced plans for a centre for mountain bike excellence today.
The Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland is expected to become a "world class national centre of excellence and innovation".

The Police Scotland baton escorts have looked as though they are enjoying the atmosphere on the route every day so far.

Commonwealth fever is gripping the Scottish Borders today.
Joanne Oliver emailed to say good luck to Eileen Martin who will be carrying the baton in Jedburgh this afternoon: "Well done Mum, we will all be there to cheer you on! Love from the Oliver's and McCabes."
Helen Richards on email says, "Good luck to our son, Iain Richards, who is carrying the baton in Kelso this afternoon."
"Good luck Cammy," emailed to us by Tracy Knox. Cameron carried the baton this morning in Duns.
