    Gette has volunteered with the St Andrew's First Aid Department for more than six decades, and was nominated for her dedication to the organisation.

    According to her nominees "she should have retied year's ago but didn't", instead she has devoted her time to ensuring New Cumnock open-air pool remained up and running.

    This time last week athletics legend Daley Thompson carried the Queen's Baton across the border as it began its 40-day tour of Scotland.

    We have video again. The relay is travelling to New Cumnock, it is a rather grey looking day in East Ayrshire but that won't dampen our spirits.

    Kate MacKenzie emailed to say: "Great to see the baton pass through a sunblessed Ayrshire! Looking forward particularly to seeing it in my home town, Kilmarnock, of which I have happy childhood memories."

    Gordon Campbell also got in touch to say: "Looking forward to seeing the baton in my original home town of Mauchline, hope to be at the top of the Burns Monument as the baton passes!

    "I used to love climbing to the top when I was young. Not been up the monument in years! Good excuse to pay a visit!"

    It'll be a dry but cloudy start to the Queen's Baton Relay in East Ayrshire. The sun should start to break through though as the baton reaches Kilmarnock in the afternoon.

    The first baton bearer of the day is taekwondo coach Tom Brown. He is described as a "great role model for sport" and is also the coach for the village football team.

    The first port of call is in Dalmellington, where hundreds of people are expected to line the streets of the market town.

    The baton will then visit an open-air swimming pool in New Cumnock.

    Up to 4,000 people will then attend a sports gala at Bloomfield Park in Cumnock, the baton's third stop of the day.
