    The relay is currently at Dunstaffnage Castle, one of the oldest stone castles in Scotland, built around 1220.

    In 1746 Flora MacDonald, who helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape Scotland after his defeat at Culloden, was briefly imprisoned there.

    The people of Argyll are being encouraged to get behind Swaziland and Cyprus as their second teams for the Commonwealth Games.

    The programme is led by Sport Scotland and aims to link all 32 of Scotland's local authorities with the 71 nations and territories of the Commonwealth.

    Apologies if you're frustrated with the large gaps in the video feed this morning.

    The baton relay live streaming system compresses the video signal then uses the equivalent of eight smartphones to spread this data, sending it out over as many mobile phone networks as it can find.

    This gives the best possible chance of the data making it back to the BBC but at times there just aren't enough mobile connections on enough networks to let us reconstruct the video to stream to the web.

    We'll keep you updated using the text commentary, and post pictures of the action as we can as soon as we get them.

    Karen coaches rugby to over 60 girls in the Oban area and is also the local club secretary. She regularly makes the 260-mile (418km) round trip to Murrayfield to fulfil her additional voluntary role of Youth Representative on the Scottish Rugby Forum.

    Those who nominated her say Karen "works tirelessly to promote sport within the community".

    Jane Murray has emailed regarding today's start in Appin. She says:

    "I am delighted that today's leg of the relay is starting in the village I come from, at my old primary school.

    "Although I now live in Dundee I will be watching this morning's live feed to see friends and family taking part in this morning's festivities.

    "My mum is part of the band providing the music for the pre-start ceilidh taking place in the primary school. I just hope everyone has remembered to set their alarms, and that the midges stay away!
