    Aaron Horn has the honour of being the first baton bearer in Dalry.

    He was nominated for his achievements and dedication to karate, having been involved in the sport since he was eight years old.

    He has enjoyed a great deal of success including a gold medal at the 2011 Commonwealth Karate Championship in Sydney, Australia.

    The relay has just resumed again after the baton was brought back to Largs from the Isle of Cumbrae by an RNLI lifeboat. Hundreds of people were there, waiting to show their support for the baton bearers.

    The people of North Ayrshire are being encouraged to get behind the African country of Nigeria as their second team for the Commonwealth Games.

    The programme is led by sportscotland and aims to link all 32 of Scotland's local authorities with the other 70 nations and territories of the Commonwealth. It aims to establish social, sporting and cultural links between Commonwealth countries.

    Karen Dunbar was a massive hit with the crowds as she took part in the baton relay in Largs.

    She started off her run by picking the baton up from Zoe MacLean, and Remus, before running along Largs Promenade.

    The bright morning sunshine brought out the crowds to cheer along the baton bearers as the relay travelled through Skelmore to Largs.

    Yesterday we had a man in a frog outfit and this morning one supporter had on a giraffe onesie for the cameras. We wonder what this afternoon will bring?

    School dinner lady Janet Muir has raised over £60,000 for charity, including £18,000 for local cancer care group the Gillian's Saltire Appeal.

    Janet's popularity with her school children was obvious when many of them followed her along her run with the baton towards the Largs seafront.

    Zoe was accompanied on the relay by her trusty dog Remus. The pair have taken part in a number of fundraising activities to allow charities to continue to match people with physical disabilities with assistance dogs.
