    I just overhead John Barrowman saying his family in the USA were watching him carry baton and it was "very emotional".

    He told me himself that although he doesn't live in Glasgow any longer Scotland is always in his heart.

    John Barrowman, best known for playing the Doctor Who and Torchwood character Captain Jack, made fellow baton bearer Irene Clark's day when he danced with her to the sounds of Williamwood Pipe Band in the courtyard of Greenbank Garden House.

    Actor John Barrowman gave fellow baton bearer Alison Young a hug and shouted "Scotland" when he took the baton.

    He ran for some of his stint before stopping to let young people touch the baton, while the Williamwood Pipe Band played for the large crowd that had turned out to see the Torchwood star.

    The entertainer then posed for photographs at Greenbank Garden House.

    Paul McDaid (pictured with Anna Beattie) is described as a "charming, sociable, truly inspirational man" by those who nominated him to carry the Queen's Baton.

    Paul, who has Down's syndrome, nearly died four years ago when he contracted swine flu. Since then, he has worked hard to regain his health and he now volunteers at a local charity shop.

    Well done Paul.

    One of the 30 people who nominated Anisa described her as having a "knack for simultaneously giving and inspiring".

    She is a keen sportswoman - playing hockey, swimming and being an active member of a running club.

    Anisa also volunteers, takes part in charity fundraising events and is currently undertaking her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

    "During the Busby section I will be looking out for my big brother 79, Ivan who is carrying the baton.

    "Ivan won the gold medal for bowls in Manchester representing the Scottish para team. I have asked him to wear his medal but to dispense with the crown,' he jokes.
