Flooding is submerging cars in the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan area with South Wales Fire Service reporting water half way up vehicles.
Two women have been carried to safety by fire crews after their car became stuck in water at Kenfig Hill, near Bridgend while a stream has broken its banks at Margam Village in Port Talbot.
Flooding is threatening homes in the Ely area of the capital while Sketty Lane in Swansea is reportedly flooded and six flood alerts are in place across south Wales.
Call for patience from one council
Local authorities across Wales said they are working around the clock to keep main routes open. Merthyr Tydfil council asked its residents to be patient - as snow continues to fall in the county.
