Farmer Gareth Wyn Jones is a familiar face on programmes such as Country Watch - but today, he's doing his job.

He's been out on the slopes of the Carneddau Mountains in Snowdonia - making sure his sheep make it through the snow.

Snow settles on the Guardian of the former Six Bells colliery site, near Abertillery in Blaenau Gwent.

The 41ft (12 metre) memorial commemorates the 45 people that died in the Six Bells colliery disaster in 1960.

Poor road conditions are causing problems on the A487 at Rhiw Penglais near Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, where a car has overturned.

Police in Rhondda Cynon Taff aren't letting the weather get in the way of their work.

But it's not all doom and gloom - a clothing shop in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, is taking advantage of the weather and has diversified for the day.

The conditions on the roads have been causing trouble for some in north Wales, like this motorist in Wrexham.

Owens was due to referee Saracens' Champions Cup game against Clermont but it has been called off due to the bad weather.

Organisers up and down the country have been forced to cancel events because of the weather.

Casualties include Caerphilly's Christmas Market and a family performance of Aladdin at The Coliseum in Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Flooding is submerging cars in the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan area with South Wales Fire Service reporting water half way up vehicles.

Two women have been carried to safety by fire crews after their car became stuck in water at Kenfig Hill, near Bridgend while a stream has broken its banks at Margam Village in Port Talbot.

Flooding is threatening homes in the Ely area of the capital while Sketty Lane in Swansea is reportedly flooded and six flood alerts are in place across south Wales.

Local authorities across Wales said they are working around the clock to keep main routes open. Merthyr Tydfil council asked its residents to be patient - as snow continues to fall in the county.
