    With temperatures struggling to get above freezing, Welsh Water has issued advice on how to protect your pipes.

    It says to make sure your stop tap is well insulated. If it freezes, you could be without water.

    Along with a dumping of snow, Wales has seen plenty of goodwill spread around over the past couple of days, exemplified here by Cardiff council employee Dave Sultana.

    Dave usually works in waste management, but today he helped free an ambulance from the snow, rescued a stranded nurse and three other cars in the city.

    If that wasn’t enough, the Good Samaritan then drove an entire family to Thornhill Cemetery to attend a funeral after they got stranded in Penylan.

    “My manager said to me: ‘You can take your cape off now Dave, you can’t help anyone else'."

    Good on you, Dave.

    Stagecoach Wales says it hopes to start running some services from the morning, but only those on main roads and from most depots, subject to conditions.

    After two days of snow hell, our weather reporter Derek Brockway says the end is in sight.

    There will be more bad weather into the night, with a yellow "be aware" warning in place until 11:00 tomorrow.

    Come Sunday, temperatures will pick up and things will return to normal.

    Scottish Power says there are still about 2,000 homes without energy in north and mid Wales, but they expect to get them all reconnected tonight unless the weather worsens.

    200 properties in south Wales are also still suffering from power cuts.

    Although zoos across Wales are closed for the day, staff at Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire went into work to make sure the animals were fed.

    This lion doesn't seem to bothered by the freezing weather.

    There was good news for shoppers in Bridgend this morning when the McArthur Glen shopping centre announced it would be open from 10:00 GMT... only to promptly close them again at 11:15 following heavy criticism.

    Sian Warren was travelling on a train from Paddington to Cardiff which was forced to stop when two windows in two carriages were cracked by ice falling from a passing train.

    The outer glass was then fully smashed to allow the service to continue at a slower speed.

    After yesterday's red warning, a rare occurrence, we are back in the more familiar territory of a yellow "be aware" warning that is in effect until 23:55.

    That's followed by a fresh warning for the whole of Wales tomorrow.
